For new DNCs, here is brief summary of level 80 rotation/openor

It is a 1500 Potency, it cast faster than a standard skills (4 skills total, 1s recast, total: 4s) and it is an AoE.

Standard Step and Technical Step both have a 1.5s activation and a 1.5s cooldown. A Quadruple Technical Finish requires 7.0s to execute.

So it'll be, 1,5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + Hit = 5,5s (1,5 + 1 + 1 = 3,5s as for SS) Still less than another combo.

So it'll be, 1,5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + Hit = 5,5s (1,5 + 1 + 1 = 3,5s as for SS) Still less than another combo.

Technical is 1.5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1.5, which is 7 seconds.
Standard is 1.5 + 1 + 1 + 1.5, which is 5 seconds.

A standard 1-2 combo can be 5 seconds (2.5 + 2.5) or shorter. Ideal GCD for DNC seems to be 2.44, meaning the standard combo would be 2.44 + 2.44 for a total of 4.88 seconds. Either way, Standard Finish is roughly the same duration as your standard 1-2 combo. Not faster. You’re forgetting to add the TF/SF hit to your equation, I think. They are still on the GCD.

also dont forget about saber dance. also most people stack feather in wait for the burst phase so its gonna be way more potency during that time period than you think cause of the ogcd.

the only thing I hate about the ST rotation is having to save 3 feathers for the TS window
