Just leaned that I'll need a thavnairian onion to move the level cap up by one every time from now on... At 500K each? No thanks. If I could gather them somewhere, maybe one a week, maybe, but I'm not going to spend ALL my gil just leveling up my bird.

If you have access to a garden, you can grow them. It'd take a couple weeks, and the seeds might cost some gil, but it might be cheaper than 500k a pop.

I'm assuming you don't have a house? If you do grow them yourself from scratch. May take a couple of weeks, but its cheap. Then sell any extras you're not using for $$$. If not I'd ask someone in your FC if they can grow some for you or if you can borrow the FC estates garden for a week or two. Perhaps someone will donate some to you as well.

Thavnairian Onion seed, require intercrossing which I have tried for a few weeks back in the days, but without luck it is easier just bought the seed

With a house, you can crossbreed the seeds, and grow them.

With an apartment or FC room, you can grow the seeds.


Onion prices skyrocketed thanks to blue mage's XP bonus also counting for your companion. 20-30 minute chocobo levels was good times for onion salespeople.

It's incredibly easy to make gil at the moment due to new expansion. 500k is not hard at all to earn if you put even a tiny bit of effort.

I've been playing since January, and have 11.8 million. I still use tickets to avoid 300G+ teleport fees (I'm cheap), so I'm not about to spend 500K on bird food, no mater what it gets me.

What are you planning to use that gil for then? There really isn't much point in gil. If not for something that is actually going to benefit you, then, what for? I'm genuinely curious.

Agree.. Besides collecting it as a game objective, there's not much else I suppose. I've been gaining about 2 million per month since I started, so I suppose I could afford an onion or two after some world hopping for the best price.
And, I just finished the MSQ, so now I can get back to leveling my gathering and selling the results for a bit more income.

Crafting gear, crafted raid gear, housing. Only people who played for 2929201 years say "what are you going to use it on" because the already have everything.
