I'm going to say an extremely unpopular opinion and I know a whole lot of you are going to @ me and try to tell me and convince me otherwise but....

A lot of this comes from the Blizzard community. There's are A LOT of teenagers and brogamers outside of Overwatch that are EXTREMELY toxic, from WoW, to Starcraft 2, to HoTS (Yes, people still play those games) and they are EXTREMELY ultra toxic and it has never changed to this day. Only Overwatch has any sort of behavioral moderation.

Edit: In case I wasn't clear, they're bringing their toxicity to FFXIV now that WoW is a sinking ship for the mean time.

I've had some issues on Primal but not huge. And usually it's not against newbies, but usually epeen measuring contests. IE dps tells tank to keep threat, tank tells dps to stfu clear 2 ultimates first, dps tells the tank to stop paying for carries, etc.

Considering how many people I've come across that do literally nothing in dungeons and raids and don't get any flack for it, coupled with the fact that trusts exist, I think this is not nearly as big of a problem as you are making it out to be.

Very likely not. It's the least confrontational way to fix the issue.

you can still get some bad apples in JP language, but even the bad one still get the job done way better than EN counterpart. even many EN people set it to JP and play that way (you can tell with their name and auto translate feature)

if you want community and chat, play with your guild or usually 50% chance you get decent party from pug. but all that is thrown out of window when you reach endgame raiding tough
Setting Duty Finder to JP only on NA data centers will not alleviate this issue—it will only provide players with longer queue times, since the game will attempt to match them with JP only players. In addition to this, some players just have all 4 checked when they queue, even if they aren’t JP/FR/GE players.

It's hard not to be frustrated when someone who already had 2 level 70 tanks before 5.0 is sitting there in Don Mheg waiting 30s before every single trash pull and boss, dying due to their own mistakes, and then failing to re secure aggro by pressing a 30s ogcd, and me suffering death after death because of it. Of course I'll make a snarky comment.

The worst I've run into so far as a tank is that tank queue is no longer instant because of a cross of healers role not getting a new job and healers complaints about changes to the jobs and role with the expansion, The other thing is DPS that run off to pull more enemies because they seem to think they are a better judge determine the pace when they have no actual grasp of the damage output of the enemies vs the healing capacity of the healer in group. Most of the time in these latter cases if it doesn't cause a wipe they take so long killing off that huge pull that there isn't any improvement on clear speed.

It's not terribly normal there, either, except perhaps in level-capped content where people (reasonably, imo) expect you to be comfortable with the fundamentals of play and at least know the leveling version of each dungeon (since... you had to do most of them for the main quest-line anyways) before attempting their heroic or mythic versions.

Though, you will find far more players there who wish jump potions weren't available to truly new players without some sort of Proving Grounds requirement, such they could actually expect that a level 110 in your group would have... 110 levels' worth of experience, instead of getting that 1 in 100 who has literally not touched any MMO until a few hours prior...

Or, IDK, be a kind person and try and give that player advices on how to play his/her job correctly ? Help with the strats instead of being rude and just sending a "you're not good enought to play with me" kind of message ?
(and, of course, if you get a "you don't pay my sub" vote kick)

This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
