On a side note, Ninja at 80 is straining my fingers for some reason; it can get so busy that I accidentally reset my rotations quite a few times -_-

Just ran the 77 dungeon for the first time. The tank was a GUN who ran and pulled everything. It was the best first run of a dungeon I've had so far. That tank was great. Had no problem keeping him up. My only complaint was that he pulled the boss while I was still in the cutscene and I walked into a mechanic.

Haven´t played in a few years and got back for SHB. Been easing into it and finished up my quests up until SHB. So naturally, it´s been ages since i´ve healed and some of the dungeons are not clear in memory.

I did a leveling roulette last night on my SCH, got intro Castrum Abania(?) and notified the party that I haven´t healed in ages. No replies, but the tank pulled nicely pack by pack.

was running with a DNC, a DRG and a GNB.

First boss fight, everything ok. I actually remembered it, second boss fight was even more "oh, yes.. of course".

Final boss, still a little rusty on the mechanics but went on fine. I do feel like i have a lot less DPS buttons to push, but with me getting back into things, I figured it was ok that I focused on the healing.

Boss at 10% hp, dps both stood in crap and nearly got nuked, quickly saved them, forgot i had no more aether stacks and the tank was getting low, just saved him at 100hp and boss was downed!

I don´t know why, but I always fear elitist / pro type people in dungeons which is why I rarely heal, but I love healing, so having these fun experiences that never end in complete chaos is fun and encourages me a little more.

Thumbs up to people who aren´t completely rude!

On the question of tank changes, I've only leveled GNB to 61 so far, the went to DNC, and I've also only done a couple of dungeons with players since, but the only thing I've noticed was tanks not wanting to wall pull in the early ShB dungeons. We'll see what happens when I get around to leveling a tank myself.

Yea I've noticed this too when in PUGs. When I run them with the leveling group, especially the tank, we pull A LOT together. The enemies don't really hit much harder than other leveling dungeons of expansions, and so long as your team is AoEing things will die quickly. Though the 77 dungeon isn't really designed for big pulls.

Did the level 79 dungeon yesterday with an FC mate/my partner, and as me and my SO have been doing since day one, we ran it blind. So, I know in the past people have said that there would always be players that expect you to have watched every guide and know every detail of new content, but I seriously never thought I would encounter one.

Not spoiling any mechanics or anything, but the bosses took me a while to adjust to because I seriously couldn’t see the aoes on the floor at times.. it’s so bright in there lol. She ran it before and was getting mad at us for trying to figure the mechanics out.. She would stop healing in the middle of a fight to type a snarky comment despite us not getting hit by the same mechanic again. Can we make a mistake once? Jeez.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m a pretty patient person, and when I used to heal randoms in dungeons/trials I never found myself getting mad unless someone gave me lip.

The trial afterwards made up for the sour experience with this healer though, everyone was really nice and chatty. Made for a nice run ^^

Level 78 WHM here. As theoretically the healer with the most "healing arsenal" I have experienced a bit of everything. Excellent easy runs where I could Holy spam and others that werent so good.

It is true the first time I did the 71 dungeon a GnB was pulling wall to wall and I was having a heart attack, couldnt believe how intense the healing was, to basically see his health go down to 20-15% with me throwing my whole arsenal at him.

Then I did another one with the mindset that would be overwelming and actual was very smooth, very easy. Majority of dungoens/trials so far have been good experiences.

Majority of us are re-learning how to play optimally again. For example after I got used to using the " free cures 2 from the lilies" and prioritizing those over normal cure 2. actually made my experience of WHM much better.

Now a tank can run away from me that at the end of him pulling 10mobs he wont reach the end with 50% health because I have instant cure lilies. (yes even with the shield DB at the beginning, many times its not enough tetra is 60s cd and remember many tanks dont like regen before grabbing the mob so I avoid it for the run)

So I think some of these "bad runs" are because people are re-learning their jobs, not super geared as levelling.

Hope you don't get me for your healer then. I do not DPS in dungeons/raids. I am there to keep the party alive and that is it, I am a healer not a DPS. I have my dancer for then I want to DPS.

General question and I mean no insult, but why do you, and people who play like you, enjoy not using their full set of abilities? What about not assisting your team in killing the enemies (meaning you need to heal less) is fun and fulfilling?

Had an all wakaba party on BowEl of Embers the other day leveling up my marauder on Goblin. Went well. I explained that we needed to -KILL THE NAIL- when it spawned, which probably didn't make much sense to anyone (it didn't to me the first time because I didn't know what the nail looked like) and so we wiped once. After that there was an "ohhhhh" moment from the team (including me when I realized I should have been more descriptive with regard to the nature of the nail) and then we whooped Ifrit and all was good

I have problems trying to play 2 roles at once. If I go as healer I am there to heal and keep people alive. If I want to DPS then I will go on a DPS class.

Aurum Vale - Joined a public Group, 1 DD was a Mentor for Newbie Channel. We went to the first Boss, Healer didn't know encounter, didn't eat fruits and died. Mentor INSTANTLY left the group.

Okay, listen. If you are a Mentor, do your frking job and HELP please instead of getting frustrated and leaving. Its a responsibility - Don't be a mentor if you can't handle it. Be ashamed of yourself.
