What is wrong with you people?

You lot constantly advertise FF14 as the nicest community around, and here we are. A youtuber posted on a forum because he has a different opinion than you and everyone is downvoting him for having a different opinion. There's even a certain person that suggested for SE to contact youtube to take down his video because it's not a nice review of the game and proceed to bash him because he doesn't agree with you.

Honestly, threads like these make me feel disgusted to be part of this community.

Well this is a forum solely based around FFXIV and requires an active subscription so yeah are you really shocked the majority are in a disagree with the opinion held by the reviewer? Seems to be the most likely outcome especially when the thread in question says it is review about the ShB, and the video is less a review and more a rant regarding the leveling of the game.

So the dislike towards the reviewer is part fueled by the framing posed by the OP.

I agree, this is kinda extreme and shows the immature part of the community.
Respect his view on the matter and move along as some will listen to him and others will give it at least a shot.
Yes, it's shady he dropped it before the release date and did a very superficial run of the game, but let's not get into conspiracies and stuff since it's expected before an expansion is launched.
He's one of the many voices on youtube and on the internet, i would rather treat it that way and not take someone else opinion before i form my own.

I do not disagree that the views of some within this thread are sophomoric, and pedantic but I also think is borderline the same to expect a welcoming view of differing opinions regarding a subject more or less does not align with the general tone of the forum. I mean sure it would be nice to expect differently from people, but the reality is people by nature do not like having something they enjoy criticized, even more so when said so when said "criticism" by the youtuber's own admission is flawed and lacking since they were unable to get past the leveling aspect. Granted once again to the videos great I do not think the youtuber intended for it to be taken as a review, and that more so has to do with the framing of the OP.

because everything he said is just his personal opinion, not a review. story is boring because there is no voice in cutscene, lack sound effect also make it boring (what sound effect exactly?)

combat is slow yet he play ninja, one of the fast paced class in the game. either he play it wrong or maybe not fast enough for him, fair. but he didnt say it, he just say the combat is slow and again... thats it, no why or how.

if he compare everything to wow off course he will be disappointed, because FF14 is anything BUT wow.

Honestly? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I respect that. What I do NOT respect, however, is forming an opinion based off of misinformation. And that guy's video is full of it. If someone does a review of a game I believe that they should have an actual idea as to what they're talking about, and he does not. At all. The game isn't for him, and that is perfectly fine. But he shouldn't go reviewing something he clearly hasn't experienced in full, if at all, since he apparently decided to pay for a level skip. In the end I find it less offensive and more amusing. This will do very little to deter people from trying FF XIV out.

Look, about most people here don't care he doesn't like the game. Its how he went on about it, one thing he said which probably rubbed people the wrong was saying the game is like "having your d**k chopped or your finger nails pulled" to "do the devs even play their own game?" ((he says that a lot in many mmo's he plays he doesn't like))

He wasn't professional in the slightest when giving out his opinions, it came off as mindless, shameless bashing. Why you think he has the amount of dislikes? You think that's only FFxiv players? No.

His video was pure bashing and that's why people here are hating it. If it was well made video was valid concerns then which he did bring one on going one most people agree with which is the ARR 1-50 But other than that, it was just bashing in attempt to make the video "funny" .

Hell he even said he's ready and he'll have his popcorn so that kinda gives out he knew this would upset people.
But feel free to defend such a video because you're so much better than the community

You cared enough to insult her. You're exactly the type of person she's referring to, too. She's not being "holier than thou", she's pointing out that disagreeing with someone should not result in being attacked. Which is exactly what you're doing to her.

Comparing a random youtuber with "journalism" of any sort is pretty ridiculous to begin with.
