I think SCH's have gotten to the point they have TOO many heals. Someone else pointed out we have 19 skills with heal potency on them.
That's entirely too much.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

SCH should have never been given Indom; fite me IRL Gen Discussion. Healer design took a nosedive in Heavensward with SCHs only getting one new shielding ability (Deplo) and no new fairy abilities (unless you count Dissipation lol). The entire core concept of the class - preventative measures and tactical ability use - got dumbed down to "smash Indom and go back to DPS". Stormblood only banged this in by introducing Excog and Fey Union, more souped-up direct healing that look like they belong more in a WHM kit than a SCH one. Yes, I get there is only so much you can do with barriers as a concept while still keeping them balanced, but think about how little SCHs use Adlo, Succor, and Sacred Soil (pre-ShB at least) simply because they have stronger, cheaper, oGCD direct healing options in lieu of preventative barrier applications. To me it's not even about DPS, it's that SCH feels more and more pushed away from actually being a SCH and more into "WHM with half your spells on the fairy instead of you". And IMO it's been going that way since HW.
