Perhaps the hard cap isn't just on frame rate but also on listening to players.

Wut? No. Stop this.
Honestly I'm not having the crashing issue (1080ti, 144hz, Win10 (1903)) But it really likes randomly changing my resolution when I log in.
"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."
No crashing here at all.
1080ti , 5960x ,32" 1440p 144hz Gsync Monitor .
Hell i didnt even notice the 90 fps cap at all until someone mentioned it...game is just as smooth as it was before the cap.
Probably like me then who can adapt pretty easily between framerates when comes to this kind of thing.
My PC will run it too, though the 90fps is hitchy and juddery. Feels like 40, and it's definitely a huge downgrade from my customary 165...
My laptop won't run the game at all. Crash on launch.
There's actually an accepted bug now on the tech forum that 144hz isn't available. I honestly can see this change being reverted or changed at least to something more realistic, capping FPS at such a low level to begin with has done nothing but cause questions to be asked namely "why?" to which so far has been radio silence. Maybe they'll just remove this unwanted cap and be done with the issue expecially since it's causing problems for people.
30fps is legit playing, 60fps is great playing, anything more is awesome playing. You are awesome but don't talk trash to who isn't as awesome as you....capping FPS at such a low level...
Meanwhile I've never played anything above 60fps other than an arcade machine. I remember when 30fps was the most amazing thing on the DC!
I get it. People should be free to have unlimited FPS. Especially as hardware gets more powerful over time.
I will say though, that for me, running at 60FPS on mostly max settings = 80C temps... so I'm not going to 90FPS and 90C and wrecking my machine, let alone unlimited.
