Awkwardly-humming-Archer.While it's a bit of an exaggeration, some Jobs, imo, aren't as fun as they used to be due to them simplifying it. Bard is a good example, and it doesn't help that a lot of it's supportive roles have been removed so I just feel like a ranger that just sings to myself during battle.
Yeah I'm not a fan of it either.
Enmity is a non issue even if a tank dies though. I died, got raised, and even with weakness snapped aggro back with like 2 hits before anyone else died.
So far every dungeon ive ran in shb, ive stolen aggro from aoes. I havent tanked a dungeon yet in 5.0 so im not 100% sure how much its changed.. Maybe im just having bad luck with the tanks i get xD
I've read some reports of tank stance seemingly being removed when syncing down yet the buff icon still being on the bar. I haven't experienced it myself though, I've had no problems maintaining aggro on anything. Paladin is super fun!
Ive been using drk in the msq. I guess its time to jump in and get a feel for the aggro ^_^
Provoke is actually amazing now, use it liberally. Had someone pull an extra add into the pack, because impatience, and only using provoke managed to take it and not lose it despite said person hitting it the whole time. I never touched the thing besides provoke, the bonus enmity is has is insane.
This is my gripe as well, in an ideal party setup, ripping aggro shouldn't happen, but it can and does (i.e. you're an overgeared healer, and you have a new tank with inadequate gear, lucid dreaming came in handy).
Not in a 24 man though. I had a Dun Scaith run today where an enmity drop would have been mighty useful given how allergic some people were to staying alive. Being able to drop enmity to keep from having my raise interrupted would have been lovely.
It's not strange, it's called opinions.
Personally I don't like it either, I actually have it disabled but I turned it on because I wanted to hear how the new one sounded.
Also it doesn't fit at all with the zone BGM that's playing, especially in the first 2 zones.
The boss dungeon theme is also really nice, but I am disappointed that the rest of the dungeon BGM is the same as before ... I had hoped for more.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
