Just because you got lucky and got some items. Everyone who was in that party deserves an equal chance or right to that item. In fact thats why DKP was invented etc. Plus how would you be if your best friend or partner was playing and you kept getting drops but they got nothing. Laugh at them and tell them to suck it up and keep doing the battle?

Just because your number has not come up.. Please?
I've invested over 100 hours into Ifrit and Moogle. People have stopped doing it after 20 hours because they have all their items. Are you saying I should put in 200, 500. even 1000 hours to get what other people get in 20?

How about if your boss rolls the dice once a month and says if you get a 6 i'll give you a $50 a month payrise. All your colleagues get a 6 on their first, second, third and fourth month. You keep rolling 3's and 4's. Now their pay is $200 a month more than you.

Guess what Your Number Ain't Up.. Suck it up and deal with it!

EDIT: Oh~ BTW there is only 6 months where your boss will be offering this bonus payrise so no matter what you do you can never get the same amount as everyone else.

Why 6 months only because 2.0 will come in and these fights will be gone.
But that's an incorrect analogy. Anyone who gets a duplicate item actually gets nothing since they can't have more than one unique item; they aren't gaining anything at all, but your analogy makes it seem like they are.

I'm not saying you can't complain about the system, or improve it, but the problem has nothing to do with fairness. Everyone has an equal chance for all items no matter what, and that's actually perfectly fair.

    fair adj

marked by impartiality and honesty : free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism
What you're demanding is a way to shift the odds in your favor. You actually want more unfairness, ironically enough. That's all I'm pointing out here.

You are correct. The analogy should be, first time you roll a 6, you receive a 50 dollar bonus. Next, designated parking space, then health care, then bonus vacation days, then new office. The list goes on, but the point remains the same. If other MMOs vastly older than FFXIV can make a loot system that distributes gear at an even rate, then so can FFXIV. Especially when the disparity in item acquisition rate is so large.

I'm beating a dead horse, here, but, once you roll the 6, you never get anything else for rolling a 6 ever again. What's upsetting is when someone who wants to roll a 6 sees you roll a 6 (after you've already rolled a 6 and can earn nothing from it) and anguishes that the rolled 6 went to waste on someone who didn't need it.

That said, the system is fair because there's no shortcut; the chance of the prize is the same each time you play without getting easier in any way. You don't earn the prize without rolling a 6 yourself, and there's no way for you to get the prize anyway (such as using someone else's rolled 6) if a 6 isn't what you rolled.

Maybe in your analogy, but for Haru, it is different. Rolling number 6 is something, anything at all. Haru has been rolling the dice over and over hour after hour day after day and has nothing at all besides a mountain of dark matter. This is the same for many other people, myself included.

I can say with a decent amount of certainty that most people would be pleased if they changed the drop system so that if someone is 7/7, everyone else can be 7/7 if they have put in the same amount of effort. They need to change the system so that the amount of items you receive is directly proportional to the amount of effort you put into it. Is that unfair? It seems perfectly fair to me.

To Haru, to myself, and to many other people on these forums, seeing people 5/7 and 7/7, people who have been running it just as often as us while we are 0/7 is completely unfair.
