Can't check on my comp atm but yeah the job guide says 30s cooldown for standard step. I could of sworn it felt like I was using every 15s.

was expecting more , the animations are cool but thats it ....
ST rotation : 1-2 with a 50% chance of 3-4 , 3-4 has a 50% chance of 5 (fan dance) but waiiiiiiit fan dance has another 50% chance of fan dance III !
AOE rotation : SAME as above... lol
dance everytime u can the dance does tons of dmg
Cooldowns : 3 on 120s .....devilment (crit buff ) , technical step and improvisation and of course Flourish so in the opener with TA and buffs u dont get !!%!% by that rng
Question: I want to do standard step on cooldown for the damage, or just when the buff is about to fall off?
You don’t use Improv with your other CDs. It’s more of a samurai meditate where you use it during downtime to generate some espirit.
I was concerned with how simple the rotation felt, but when playing it feels fast past and engaging (as long as you get procs.) I’m 66 now from HoH and loving it.
Step potency is based on them locking you out of all other actions. If they were oGCD, Standard Finish would need to deal (0)0 (1)50 (2)300 rather than 500/750/1000, and Technical Finish would need to deal (0,1,2)0 (3)250 (4)500; this is accounting only for average GCD actions, ignoring oGCD attacks. If we were to consider oGCD attacks as well, this would be lower.1. Make "Basic Step" an oGCD. Coming from someone who mained NIN in HWs, dances are very similar to mudras, except that you have to click a skill to activate it. Having that skill on the GCD really kills the overall flow. Each time I'm go to execute it, I'm stuck waiting, and it feels bad to wait 2.5 seconds to click a spell which "does" nothing, only to click more spells before clicking another to use it. I would say I could deal with "Technical Step" being a GCD skill because I'm only pressing it every 2 minutes or so. But dealing with the jarring delay of "Standard Step" every 30 seconds is.... well... jarring.

When I initially watched DNC videos after the media tour I thought: "Cool, surely the dance moves will be on Cascade, Fountain, Windmill and Bladeshower. Then I can have the single-target and aoe combos on my 1-2-3-4 since obviously those buttons will change into their enhanced counterparts when they proc, right?" Well imagine my surprise when I get my hands on it and they're all separate buttons. The only reason I can see for that is so they can have 8 buttons instead of 4.
I believe they mean making just Standard Step an OGCD. Currently, when it's off cooldown, you need to wait until the GCD rolls off to be able to use it.Step potency is based on them locking you out of all other actions. I feel like FD3 has little thought going into when to use it, almost always you can just use it right after FD1/2. I wish it was just "your FD1/2 has a chance to do additional potency damage) or something, it feels like a button that isn't necessary to push.
Other than that, liking the class so far, though like others have said AoE range is annoyingly small, while dance range is annoyingly big. I wish there was a toggle, something like "focused dancing" or something where if you push it, it will only hit the target you are targetting or in combat with.
I kinda feel like Curing Waltz is a bit weak as well. If it was just a bit stronger, I think I'd be alright. Like OP said, it feels like a gimmick alluding to previous iterations of Dancer in the other games. When I use it at level 70, iLvL 380, I'm only getting about 3k, or 6k when stacked. To me, it feels like Summoner's Physick, in that it's not even worth putting on my bar.
