Speak for yourself. Weapons should still be restricted - just because of how changing between classes/jobs work in FFXIV.

Other than that it is just plain silliness for there to be any restrictions on gear glamours. AF gear not excepted.

Of course, lifting restrictions on some gear is better than not lifting it on any.

The person you quoted said that weapons should remain restricted. It's literally the second sentence, " Job-specific equipment (weapons and AF gear) should stay restricted."

Eh, i choose to play as tank because they wearing heavy armor, gear - part of role same as weapons.
That's not more diversity, that's less role differences.

MistakeNot isn't disagreeing with me about weapons, but about AF gear. And that's fine. Some people think all wearable gear (not weapons) should be unlocked. It's okay to have this opinion. It would be much more difficult to convince a dev to agree with this opinion, though. Arguing for role-free gear is a much more attainable goal, as the devs would be more likely to be swayed if we maintained that it's okay for AF gear to remain job locked.

Then they need to be clearer in the structure of their post because I had to scrutinise it for like five minutes to see how you arrived at your conclusion. Maybe by putting the part they're actually disagreeing with after the phrase signifying disagreement. "Speak for yourself, AF gear shouldn't be restricted" for instance, rather than "Speak for yourself, weapons should still be restricted. Line break. Oh, and AF gear shouldn't be restricted".

Duly noted, still having a hard time finding anything similar enough to said gloves for my classes to work with across the board, it bothers me heavily.

i hope i am posting in the correct forum,

Do you think SE will ever lift the glamour restrictions on classes/jobs for further personal experience/unique looks?

there are some great gear out there i would love to use for my PLD from other classes but even the glamour plate restricts it to DoW only.

    thoughts?
I doubt it. Just as there are players who want to expand their options, there are other players who want their class/job to have a unique style identity.

Your best bet is to try to find similar items that don't have conflicting job restrictions.

Honestly, outside of weapons and maybe certain job artifact gear, I see no reason why glamour should be so restricted as is anyway. Obviously keep the gear *equip* restrictions, we don't want pure chaos in what gear you can equip and who can roll need on what, but once it's placed into the glamour dresser and thus no longer have any impact on gameplay, it should have its restrictions lifted.

And the main reason why they should allow this? Because of all the silly glamours that already exist. Now, I'm not hating on bathing suits or pig costumes or the like, it's not my thing but I'm happy for other people to have the option, but it's a slap in the face to say that people are allowed to be tanks in bikinis, or moogle machinists with popguns, or swole namazu monks, but you're not allowed to be an armoured cleric, or a shinobi that specialises in glaives and "dancing" ninjitsu, or an armoured red "battle" mage.

There are so many cool possibilities you could have with looser glamour restrictions, but apparently we're only allowed to follow the styles Square lays out for us... except for when it's silly.
