Just had to kick the first person from a party I’ve had to in a long while.
On my Twintania alt, and I’m trying to rank up through her GC. So I queue into Leveling Roulette for the GC seals, and land in Brayflox. Was kind of hoping for Qarn, but okay. I’ll take Brayflox. We have an AST and a MCH, and then a level 33 GLA. Oh boy.
The first pull involved me and the MCH tanking the two mobs (the opo-opo and the calibri). We mention to try using Flash when we see the tank facepull the next pack and aggro go to the healer due to them healing. They ignore us. I also mention that they can unlock PLD after this dungeon is over, as that will give them Shield Oath, which can help with aggro and enmity generation. They ignore me. The pull before the first boss involved the MCH kiting everything, so I attempt to gather them with Titan-egi, which kind of worked (but not really because I’m not the greatest SMN and trying to level it up on my alt to “relearn” it). The first boss was tanked by Titan-egi because the tank wasn’t tanking (though I had to heal him with Sustain and Physick more than I had to deal damage because Titan-egi is squishy). We mention again to try and use Flash. They continue to ignore us and run ahead.
The trash up to the second boss was much the same. As was the second boss. I gave up on Titan-egi because things were dying slow, so I attempted to just deal damage instead to lessen the strain on the healer (who was healing the MCH more than the tank).
Fast-forward 40 minutes into the dungeon, and we’re finally at the last boss. It’s been figured out that this tank doesn’t speak English, so I’ve been trying to communicate with them via janky auto-translate sentences, which they ignore. They barrel into the first boss room without any of us in there, because we’re trying to figure out how to explain things to them (they only had French ticked and none of us spoke French—what little I remember from school is far too basic to explain “Move the boss from the poison puddles that appear on the ground”. I tried again to ask if they knew English (by saying their name and “{English language}?” in the chat)—they just ignore me. I suppose I could have tried “Parlez vous anglais?”, but I probably wouldn’t have received a response, and my brain just wasn’t thinking that far ahead while I was tanking the boss.
After 5 minutes of waiting for us to wipe, I initiated a kick because I’ve tried as hard as I can to communicate with the tank, and it’s just not working. I’ve done more Physick spamming in this dungeon than I have DPS, and I just ran out of patience. Perhaps not my finest moment, but when I’ve raised every party member on the last boss because they’re tanking and not the tank... The MCH said it wasn’t nice to kick them, but I was just done. They weren’t tanking. They weren’t listening to auto-translated advice (“{Please}{Flash}”). We’ve been in there for 40 minutes. I just wasn’t in the mood to wipe repeatedly to the last boss this morning.
I understand that not everyone speaks English. However, is it hard to try and communicate via auto-translate? Is it hard to at least read the auto-translated chat? I don’t think that {Please}{Flash} or {English language} would have translated into anything incomprehensible versus some of the other strange combinations you could possibly do. I don’t think they spoke German, because the other two people had German and English ticked. No one tried to communicate in it, so can’t say for sure.
Idk. I’m just frustrated this morning. Perhaps I got up on the wrong side of the bed. Perhaps I should have just dealt with it. It takes a lot usually to prompt me to actively kick a player because I’m usually more tolerant, but perhaps I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Idk. It’s done now.

I think in all honesty that may have been a bot. I've been with one in Dzamael that did the exact same behaviors. Just used Halone combo, no flash, no cds, no nothing. Would just beeline into everything until we actively kicked them because our healer would be dogpiled the moment they rushed in.
Not a single word said from them yet we tried everything between normal text and auto translate.
Actually i can totally understand this BLM. When a healer is holying too much, i am with my RDM usually like "oh well, i sure am not gonna waste all my gauge in enchanted moulinets so that the mobs die 0,3 seconds faster... I will keep pressing this scatter button". While the one-button-scatter spam is not boring enough to make me leave, it is better if the mobs dont die too fast so that i can do something a bit more interesting.
3 days left before better RDM aoes rotations.
So i queue up for Swallow's Compass for fun as a brd, we go in say our hellos, tank stops before pulling anything asks for protect, healer(whm) goes don't have it on my bar in preparation for ShB, i'm like ok but its 2/3 days till then get out those last uses while its there.
Tank pulls to 1st room me+ other brd start ripping hate off everything because tank is in deliverance, reason being because they have no tank stance, i face palm we being petty here it seems, so for next room hlr stops healing just siits on ground, me + other brd both die due to hate rip yay >_> Healer say they refuse to heal without tank in tank stance, tank refuses tank stance without protect, so healer asks for the boot, it goes through i get fc mate to fill in everything goes down easy got outta there.
Just if your asked to use a skill use it >_> because if i followed that logic on brd no refresh/tactiturn, foes and i'd have to find an invisible diversion because on some bosses i almost ripped off tank due to crit luck.

Guy butt is best butt <3

So I went trial as PLD and got Castrum Fluminis with new player bonus. Co-tank was also PLD and went Shield Oath so I just Off tank. Everything was completely smooth, not even one person failed the dark/light moon phase which is surprising. I thought this party's good, we can clear this flawlessly.
I totally jinxed it.
A healer and DPS made the mistake of staying in front of the boss, right when she's casting her tankbuster.
Next pair of healer and DPS died from stack+fan combo.
Only 2 PLD, a SAM and a DRG left. Boss was at 20%.
I could sense the mutual sense of dread from my co-tank. We knew what we had to do.
Co-tank would Clemency herself after every tank buster, while I'd Clemency the two remaining DPS. Used Divine Veil, Passage of Arms and Reprisal to mitigate the stacking damage, dealing damage as much as possible while regaining mana. DPS would use Bloodbath and Feint to help. Even had to eat the stack solo with Hallowed Ground.
Next stack marker however, we couldn't mitigate it enough and the DPS got wiped. We kept going but we finally died during the next stack. It ended at 6%.
We finally cleared it on second try with minimal deaths (the first healer got cleaved again).
Should probably mention that it'd be best not to run anything that contributes to your challenge log until after the expansion, or else you'll lose out on that sweet weekly challenge log EXP for all the new content.
"Consider this old adage: When a Bard sings alone in a desert, and no one is around to hear him... Is he truly singing?"

Just had a person in Fist of the Son who kept calling how quickly we'd wipe, all the while not doing anything, and actively tanking the boss in the wrong place, turning it at the party for cleaves etc. Maybe instead of talking about how terribly the fight goes usually, he could... actually do something.![]()

So what you're saying is you got a troll you probably should have kicked. unless we're missing a ton of context inbetween all this. i get screwing with friends with cleaves (I've done it. its worth every laugh we get including when i shirked a friend and she then proceeded to go 'you know what?' and turned it so it cleaved our healer for most of his hp. laughs on discord were had with the 4 of us) But random parties that's not cool. at all.
