Hmm...seems to be some bizarre phenomenon on the loldrg since ffxi days. Always see the worst of dps issues coning from the loldrg....it must attract a specific mindset of player.I mean we got these wonderful gems from you to back my statement so uh...
...if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck... maybe my 'buzzwords' hit a nerve bc you know there is truth behind them? And you're right I'm just a random person on a forum and so are you. And thank goodness, it seems most people are ignoring your advice and taking the high road to sanity! May our paths never cross, bc you don't sound like a fun person to run a dungeon with =)
Now that I have gotten that out of my system, I just finished leveling my last job to 70, monk, bc pounding the level 69 dungeon and there is nothing more frustrating than the tank pulling big and my co dps single targeting. I kept begging for the drg to give me goad but alas I was ignored and he eventually told me to shut it. Ate my dragon balls very bitterly in the middle of each pack and sat there for 5 seconds getting them back. I'm sure I wasn't doing mnk aoe optimally, but at least I was trying. Warrior was getting pretty salty about the no goad either, which I gave immediately. I guess it touched a nerve on the drg bc he left after that. We then got a rdm who didn't scatter and had a cute Zoro macro for their melee attacks... that got old after a few times. Glad I got this out of the way days before I gotta do it all over again to 80.

The same thing that goes through their head when in level 50 alliance raids and they're like "wut tactician be lolol". Please let me overpower the adds more, please, I WILL GIVE YOU COOKIES.What goes through a brd/mch's head when they pop tact, but not refresh?
Ran into a level 69 scholar with mostly lvl 63 and 65 gear in Castrum Abania.
First boss, almost wiped because I was focusing on dealing damage and my HP got to 10%, no sign of healing from the healer. Clemency myself back up to half, this is when the healer realized i'm on low health and healed me back up to full. A minute later, I figured if he noticed that, then he is paying more attention. Wrong, a DPS took an AoE because his dog ate his WASD keys or his controller, I was on less than 20% health, healer decides to prioritize the DPS instead of me as the tank. All good, I'm a paladin, clemency myself back up to full.
Second boss is more of the same. Me healing myself back up to full hp because the healer is not doing his job.
Then we arrive at the final boss...what this was is beyond me.
First tank buster, healer doesn't heal me at all. Obviously i'm using mitigations to reduce the damage as much as possible, he doesn't DPS either he just sat there. I thought fine, I'm on 85% hp, there's no point to heal as of yet. Might overheal and waste part of it, all is well, I was wrong.
Second tank buster, I'm down to 60% HP, still no heals in sight, I just finished up my requiescat and Holy Oath rotation which meant I had no MP to spare for healing. Healer finally decides to throw ONE heal my way which was worth...10%. I can use a potion and heal more. Healer proceeds to DPS only from here on out, more tank busters happen, I avoid all mechs and mitigate the tank busters, the healer and DPS don't avoid mechs. Eventually I end up with full MP because I did not do my Holy Oath rotation any further due to not trusting that healer, and I was right. I was on 15% HP and the healer was very occupied with healing up the DPS and ignoring me as the tank.
Throw out hallowed ground and heal myself back up to full, immense amount of luck with hallowed ground seeing as the boss hit me right before the effect applied and left me on less than 300 HP all in all.
That process repeats through the entire fight. Healer focusing DPS and healing the DPS players, while I heal myself because the healer is not doing it.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact I play paladin as my main tank, we wouldn't have cleared that dungeon. And this dude has the other 2 healers at level 70 and couldn't do a basic job of healing. It amazes me these people exist. And yet we are the mean ones if we kick them out.

And this is exactly why when I pug 4 mans as tank, its always with paladin.Ran into a level 69 scholar with mostly lvl 63 and 65 gear in Castrum Abania.

Hmm wonder how effective the Gunbreaker regen will be.
Not having your job stone equipped at 70 is a really easy mistake to make, especially if you have another gear-compatible job at 70 - here's how: Hit 70, equip the compatible job's gear (MCH in this case), then swap in your new job's weapon. If the weapon isn't an AF wep, the game won't automatically equip your stone.

Haven't touched the class since ARR swapped weaps and thought to myself "why am i still a rogue" and it took me a few minutes to remember why.

I love these healers sometimes because it gives me experience for ShB where I'm likely gonna see more of that myself. thankfully I've run into healers spaming Grimlyt Dark that make sure my hp stays at an acceptable level for me to just concentrate on aggro holding and not worry about too much else.Ran into a level 69 scholar with mostly lvl 63 and 65 gear in Castrum Abania.

if we had a Ilvl lock on all dungeons SB we might avoid this issue a bit, but eh...I accept it as a chance for me as a PLD main myself to learn how to best analyze a situation on top of doing my own job.

Happy tales from the Party Finder today. With just a bit of bad news.
Decided to farm birds on my alt because I’m bored and finished capping all the tomes on Hyo. So I log in and get into a Nidhogg farm for scales. I get the birb on my alt’s fourth run, and a scale. Party was super chill. After Nidhogg, I decided to do Zurvan, and got a group of really chill people.
The bad part was we ended up with a SAM that was doing next to nothing. Level 70. In i370 gear. And they, of course, get the first bird that drops and bail a few runs later. We go through some 8th members, until finally we get one that sticks—and we managed to get 6 people their birds. ^^ 2 people joined in to help that already had it, so it was nice to get a group that stuck it out long enough to get birds for everyone. So now, my alt only needs Sephirot and Sophia’s birds. Then it’ll be farming the dogs in 5.0. XD
Felt good to get a chill party in Zurvan. Given how he used to be in PF. We also had enough damage to kill him in less than 2 mins. Skipped soar (of course), and the adds completely. It was amazing.
No more suffering in endless torment for me, Zurvan!

Yeah, I get that it's a mistake that can be easily made. I shouldn't jump to conclusions. It was more their behavior in the instance that led me to think they were likely trolling on that as well. Thankfully a day or so of avoiding DF like the plague has chilled me out about the whole thing! Not having your job stone equipped at 70 is a really easy mistake to make, especially if you have another gear-compatible job at 70 - here's how: Hit 70, equip the compatible job's gear (MCH in this case), then swap in your new job's weapon.
