As someone that has long term played both wow and XIV let me tell you... the toxic community I think of isn’t wow.
I mean, i came from wow, and i can say with 98% certainty that WoW was waaaay more toxic.
They both have their good and bad eggs, but i've run into far less nastiness since making the switch.

1 am central every farking day this week so far.

As someone who just let his BfA sub lapse, HAAAAAAAA! What have you been reading? The WoW community is trashing Blizz left right and center!
Is nobody around here able to see the wow forums/reddit?
...do you not have phones?

Naw fam. Not joking at all. The toxicity of the vocal minority on this forum is rainbows and sunshine compared to whinecraft. But me personally? I hate Whinecraft with every cell in my body for what it did to the mmo genre, what its been doing to xiv, and I litterally get nauseated anytime I see a Whinecraft video of any kind. The mental gymnastics people will pull to validate their own egos is astonishing.
Can both games co-exist and compete without hindering one another? I would say yes. It's healthy for the genre.
Assuming you aren't joking, fomenting enmity doesn't help the situation at all.
Ill drink and celebrate for an entire month when that abomination finally dies.

To be fair, most (incorrectly) blame Activision rather than Blizzard... but yeah, they certainly do *not* blame themselves unless they are trying to push some sort of casual vs hardcore agenda.

TBF givin that Bungie appears to be going in a good direction after parting ways with them I don't blame people for blaming Activision. But the little bit I've seen from people tend to be blaming Blizzard when it comes to WoW.

Activision has no creative control over WoW, so that's why blaming them is incorrect. Very very very few people on official forums ever specifically blame Blizzard though.
I think that it isn't fair to blame WoW fans tho, considering how many yoshiP fanboys we have on our community,it only makes sense they also have many blizzard fanboys
Not entirely true, I mean, there are some, but most of the well constructed posts I've seen on the WoW reddit are directed at Blizzard and especially at Ion Hazzikostas, the games director. Activision flaming is usually on the WoW forums themselves but even then it's still mostly directed at Blizzard.
YoshiP plays a lala, how can you seriously respect someone like that? Disgusting behaviour, my dude. :P
