It'll be kinda sad for me when billing kicks in, I won't be able to troll the trolls anymore XD
I can't really say I will miss all the troll posts from players who never had any intention to replay. For the rest of them, maybe we'll see you in 2.0!
For a few reasons actually:
1. This isn't some po-dunk company with limited funds.
2. They said they would do everything they could to fix it, this would seem to me anyway to include lots of money.
3. The company in question has numerous other ventures that make them millions, (Animes, games, ect.) and helps publish some of the highest grossing games in the industry.
I feel like i could go on, but I think those 3 cover the core concepts of my point.
Yes but if they keep running this game f2p then they're gonna keep losing money and they're stocks will drop. Then no one will invest in them, and they will lose lots of money because of that. Charging right now is a fabulous idea.For a few reasons actually:

Since when has SE been spending all their resources on FFXIV?
Regardless, I wish there was more stuff to do pre-25. You do leves and grind until you can join a GC and do some quests that aren't boring like the main story. Or you get to 18 so you can actually start using materia.
EDIT: Oh and I won't be subbing. I'll keep watching the lodestone/forums for updates, and I might resub for a month once 1.21 and 1.22 hit but other than that I don't think I'll be playing.

Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh
I'll be staying. At least one month is sure, we'll see what happens.
And I'm not in a LS, so I won't be missing anyone!
Yeah, it's not fun to be alone ;_;
Um, the game has been out over a year now and there hasn't been a single new job or level cap increase. I have no problem with them charging for their product, but I think they may have kept more people had they waited until 1.21 when we will at least have some new jobs and more to do than what was released in the last patch. Not to mention, the crafting situation right now is a joke. Half of the recipes in the game now are new ones sitting on top of a foundation of old ones that are STILL coded into the game.
Also, you seem to have no idea what this is costing them, so to make the comment that they will lose investors in light of the fact that this game has done all the damage to its investors that its going to do seems foolish. If they weren't willing to do whatever it takes to fix this game and keep their clients happy, then they should never have officially announced that they were "WIlling to do whatever it takes to make FF XIV a success".
Certainly I 100% agree with you that it is their right to decide when to charge, and that in order for it to be successful we will need to start paying monthly fees. It just seems to me that they should have waited a patch or 2 longer then charged everyone regular price to make up the difference.
