Housing demolition timer need to be changed! Sitting on your property needs to count.

The phrase "SE should not have to tell you [insert item here]" could be used to justify literally any notification shortcoming in FFXIV. They shouldn't have to display combo indicators; they shouldn't have to display quest locations; they shouldn't have to display timers of any kind. They do these things not because they have to, but because it makes the experience better for players - and rightly so. Housing notifications fall under this banner as well. It's not a question of personal responsibility; obviously the OP could have prevented this. Rather, it's an issue of egregiously bad design. Systems like this are supposed to minimize reliance on personal responsibility to the greatest extent possible, which in this case means implementing vastly clearer notifications. SE has neglected to do so, and that should be changed to create a higher-quality system that minimizes incidents like the OP's.

Players are failing at responding to notifications that are right in their face daily. I have seen people ask for logging into reset the timer, their are people who dont want responsibility at all!! Notifications are supposed to helpful not used as crutch so you can avoid moving your rear on your own accord. With or without Notifications if you fail to take action to prevent the loss of your player house its your fault.

Well, I think it's a big stretch to say the housing timer is 'right in your face'. It doesn't appear at all until your house is due to be demolished and when it does start counting down, it's tucked away on a sub-menu. A pop-up notice like the one we have for achievements would be a big improvement in my opinion.

Was not talking about the housing timer with that line more so the other notifications that are apparent.
