There's other jobs with similar healing capabilities that also have solo duties. If those can clear it, I'm sure SMN will be just fine without a tanking pet.While we know that to be true, I fear it will have detrimental outcome for SMN leveling and solo duties. With no personal pet tank, with only heal (Physick) scalling from Mind rather than Int, and with HP shield that Titan will now give being 20% on 30 sec cd... I don't think we will have much staying power.

he will still be at 5.0 .
the only way to make it use was to give him a team mitigation spell .
I mean, we still have the tanking chocobo, right?
Maybe they can buff the enmity generation from it.
While I think it's a shame that the tanking carby won't be an option for a meatshield anymore, I'm not overly mad because the chocobo still exists.
I wish they compromised and kept titan as the pet that can take damage, every other pet becomes invincible

smn will have a regen-medica spell. not as powerfull as whm but it will be healling. In SdB nobody will use damage meter anymore cause every dps job of game will do 100% good dps.TBH, sometimes the FF14 playerbase seems to see zero value in anything but "did the numbers get bigger", and it really doesn't help that situations like this tend to just happen and really necessitates such utility skills existing for such emergencies. But this is mostly that players want to finish things quickly and that translated into a large focus on DPS numbers. Though, haste buffs are an issue because of clipping issues similar to blood letter procs cancelling blood letter inputs, and animation lockouts in the past which is a massive QOL issue, tbh

Well there is one upside to it being removed. No more people in duty finder that will refuse to switch it out.

It isn't a problem though, that's the thing. Aside from one or two niche uses or saves, tank pets are completely pointless to have.
