Psh. Ideas are a dime in the dozen, and in this case the execution was lacking as well. Skyrim did nothing extraordinary. Oh, and sometimes ideas are born dead.
Nothing ironic about it. People have liked subpar games since the beginning of time. Just don't act like XIV should learn anything from them.Irony is myself, & and I'm sure many many others still enjoyed it far more than most anything this year(or last year I guess?). Haters gonna hate.
And still does and damn it's good. I had to relapse after this thread reminded me of it.
So much battle strategy in a real-time combat that you'd think XIV could have even a fraction of it because it's based on slower AA-pace that supposedly gives possibilities for more strategy.
And crafting in Tri is amazing too. It's all about what you can get from where or from what monsters instead of watching a loading bar fill up over and over again with automatic items =/
XIV crafting really picks the worst parts of all crafting systems in MMO's while simultaneously throwing out all the possibilities for any gameplay. When you really think of it it's kind of an achievement in itself.
A real achievement is that the game somehow managed to make it's players think that everything it did is by default the worst thing ever created in the history of mankind, and anything less than a complete axing and rehaul of everything name included is too little.
It's like a mass hypnosis in a way. Fascinating.
This statement is true, perfect example would be FFXIV, definitely not Skyrim.Psh. Ideas are a dime in the dozen, and in this case the execution was lacking as well. Skyrim did nothing extraordinary. Oh, and sometimes ideas are born dead.

btw if you played skyrim on console that's also part of your problem, it is definitely pc master race on this one, turning console players into peasants once again. That "visually advanced" pic is xbox 360, if you can play ffxiv, you can play skyrim on your computer and it looks beautiful. Bethesda buggy, but you buy it on the computer and the modders fix the bugs. Sad but at least they're fixed and you don't have to play console piece of crap with bugs they'll never fix.
The bugs and weird game design in some aspects were universal though. People always say you shouldn't look past obvious flaws when it comes to certain games, yet people do that with Skyrim, the game is flawed but it has a lot of content, it definitely wasn't worth the perfect scores or GoTY it deserves, if anything Bastion was better.btw if you played skyrim on console that's also part of your problem, it is definitely pc master race on this one, turning console players into peasants once again. Also, while Skyrim has some pretty (yet generic) envrionments and atmosphere, the character models continue to be ugly as sin as the rest of their games. Even though graphics don't make a game, they can also be a pain to look at sometimes lol, playing skyrim enough you no longer notice how badly characters are modeled and animated, and this is talking about the PC versions, unmodded.
Just saying, if i ever get Backstep-Fireballed i am rage quitting forever
Good lord I hope this doesn't translate into FFXIV having a lack of story, repeated content, and mindless monster hunting repeatedly.
Huh, we're already there! Dammit.
