The funny thing is that the ONLY Hrothgar name we know of is Queen Gunhildr's, so at least for the Hroths they already have naming conventions for both genders![]()

And google seems to indicate this is a Slavic or Greek name...not sure if accurate though :/

If it’s anything like FFXII, the common theme with viera names is that they are all just 4 letters long and the new character from the trailer seems to fit that as well despite being a viis and not a viera.

Just so you know, Lyna is a Vii(s?) from the First. The races on the First do not seem to use the same naming conventions as their Source counterparts. We know this to be true of the Mysta(e)l (Miqo'te equivalent).

Drahn names have also been wildly different from Au Ra. Billfort and Philline were a male and female Drahn that were in the Crystarium tour Ethys did.

I really hope they hurry up. I want to do my name changes *before* launch. I've been making plans for my two Viera characters since November, but I still don't even know their names! It's driving me crazy.
Yes, they were.
Directly quoted from the Wiki ;
It is estimated that around 80% of Viera are born female. Their physiology; however, only begin to differentiate at around the age of 13 and their puberty. It is at around that age that the male Viera will be taken under the wings of an older male to train in the ways of the Wood-warders.

Clock is ticking on those naming conventions, SE. :|

I'm waiting with so much anticipation for these naming conventions. Mostly cause they give some insight into how each race will speak if they have particular words for things and what not
