It's also very immersion-breaking. I was about to do my quests with the Smith for the set of Brand New armor but the swarm of bots in the vicinity was so off-putting I just logged out for the night.

Also many of the bots spamming the shout channels with offers are using quasi-real names, perhaps trying to avoid some filter (that should simply recognize the content of their announcements and flush them)

Some other MMO's will quite rapidly mute chars that have gotten a lot of reports of rmt advertising, then hours later a GM will investigate in more detail and nuke the account if warranted. Here, if I don't fill up my 200 limit ignore file with their names I'll be hearing them for 1/2 a day or more.

Seeing the DoL bots doing conga lines between nodes honestly annoys me enough that I specifically try to avoid gathering at times where I know they'll be present.

I think what's actually going on is that SE now only bans the bots in weekly waves as opposed to constantly because I used to see low leveled bots a lot more often then I do now.

I can see this being efficient in theory - let the bots level to 50 then cut them off before they get any farming done, but I wonder if they are really catching that many before they gobble up resources and wealth and pass it on.

I've noticed a lot of RMT bots/stolen accounts using the world visit system to go into the main cities and shout out their sales pitch. I feel like we're back to the ARR days with the amount of gil spam I'm seeing as of late.

I’ve been playing around on an alt I made on Twintania, and it’s astounding the amount of THM/CNJ/ARC bots I see just running around rushing the MSQ on her.

My wife is leveling her twink there too... yes it went from literally zero to 132545374 bots... i wonder if our longer que times are related to them.

Same problem on Midgardsormr. I wish they would check for characters whose names are just random keystrokes and take them out as they are created. This is supposedly a low pop server - probably if you don't count the bot population. But it is annoying and weird at the same time when you do a class quest and suddenly there pop up 10 or more of the mobs you want to kill and for a moment you wonder what is happening until you realize 'oh some bots are doing the same thing I'm doing'.

I guess that people who want the crafted raid gear when it release and don't level their craft/gather and don't make money would buy gils... Else yeah, it's probably just glamour and housing. Maybe powerleveling craft by buying lots of mats?
