In OSRS the GE has a buy limit. For example, I believe Barrows sets have a buy limit of 10 sets per 24 hours.. I think, don't quote me on that one.
If they do, I never encountered a buy limit in all my 7 years of playing RS. If there is a buy limit, it would be restricted to certain items. I know someone who was merching black claws and they had theirs set to the thousands at the time.
