Wil ffxiv2.0 be promoted and marketed?

greetings citizens. I have been away from long very break from FFXIV and planning to retrun in 1.21 or 2.0. but there is one ting I have been worried about. will Squeenix promote and market FFXIV2.0? when FFXIV was released it was quite very silenced about it, but when other online games such Rift and swtor were released it was quite very a ruccus about them. can we expect the same once FFXIV2.0 is near release? I know that it was usually very silenced around FFXIs expansion pack releases so i am woried that Squeenix dont try enough to market their mmorpgs.

Yep, especially since the PS3 version will be launched as well. It's always well marketed in Japan and they've always released trailers (especially now that they utilize steam) of XI, so it'll be fine, they did have a commercial slot for XIV originally, but it no longer airs while the game is being overhauled.

it got 600k+ ppl to buy if the game would have been good word of mouth would have been enough.

That makes sense. do you think they will market it as "FFXIV 2.0" and put the "2.0" on game boxes to show it is an etirely different game?

They will need to do something to distinguish current ffxiv and the new one, thats for sure. Calling it 2.0 is the best bet so far.

Not enough attention!? it was one of the main attractions for Sony's show, was a "first time revealed", was on the big screen, major major announcement, and then was big at every other after that, it was hugely and overly hyped just because it was SE's next MMO.

I just hope this time they dont give us some BS CGI Trailer that has a total of 3 seconds worth of gameplay.

sony might probably support them with the ps3 launch, maybe a cool ps3 bundle/controllers/keypad etc. For even more options, SE also can do a promotion with FF versus xiii.
