Ongoing harassment/Doxxing threats

What the hell is going on with in game moderation at the moment? Directing players to complain on the official forums about doxxing and sexual harrassment, and threatening a guy with "You know what you did" in that thread earlier where it may or may not have been about swearing.

What an absolute mess.

Thats odd. Usually SE reacts really fast when it comes to harassment or "offensive language". They tend to swing the bannhammer quite fast even for minor insults.

Well I know a pair of players that stalked, talk bad about someone, hurt the person emotionally, made one player stop playing the game and made another change server..and yet they are still playing, even after countless of reports. So sadly some cases seem to slip through their system quite well.

It's a lot less surprising that bots regularly get a free pass if even major social issues get ignored despite there being what should be more then enough evidence for punishment to be issued to the offenders.

This is so odd that they aren't at least being threatened with bans. I know ppl who harrassed a former friend by just laughing and jumping around them in game. I remembered they were told to cease immediately. So why is it that others where its way worse of a situation falling through the cracks?

When you can cuss and get a 3 day ban, reasons like these makes me believe there is more to the story, or some of it is flat out made up. We only do have a story by a single person after all. If the harassment is as bad as they are saying, I highly doubt SE would simply do nothing about it. If they cannot even leave their ward, the harasser has to be doing something in game. And if he rolled an alt and was found out, there is no way that can be done unless you specifically make yourself known and if you are doing that there is no reason to even roll one in the first place. There is just a lot of fishy here. I am not saying it didn't happen. But something doesn't smell right about this whole story.

They don't take screenshots or vids, since they can be manipulated pretty easily.

If there's any source in the game though, they can just literally look it up...

Your logs are saved on their servers you know. All of it. I doubt this hasn't been brought to light at any point in game.

First - I want to be very clear: harassment is not okay in any form and if what OP described occurred then it was not funny and whoever did it was completely out of line.

But there is another perspective to this and OP is leaving some details out.

1) OP has a long and known history of holding grudges and verbally attacking others both outright and passive-aggressively. He has targeted members and friends of those members of the Mateus community, some of which were formerly his friends, not just for perceived sleights but also for defending the people from or even just choosing to associate with people he has had conflicts with.
2) OP has a history of bragging about getting away with targeted psts as well as bragging about getting people banned, kicking from NN, etc.
3) OP has publicly posted information that could identify his rl information on other public forums. Any one of the people OP has been abusive to in this game or others could have trivially obtained this information. It is wildly inappropriate to assume that a particular person did this and accuse them in a public forum when many others had both the means and the motive.
4) OP has himself worked around blacklists by creating alt characters.
Numerous people can back up these claims and have posted screenshots of this individual engaging in this behavior in Discord channels as a warning to others. He is becoming known on other servers in the Crystal DC because of this behavior. And there are many tickets submitted to SE illustrating this behavior by myself and others. Screenshots can be doctored but numerous people have similar stories and would be willing to share after seeing this post.

This is not the forum to publicly post screenshots or continue a feud but people who have been a victim of OP's harassment deserve a voice. I am not defending the actions of whoever ordered pizza for the OP and scared his wife at all. But harassment, no matter who does it, should not be tolerated and the OP should be held to the same standards as he expects others to be held to.

You'd think that but it happens. About two years ago we had someone here on Balmung who went out of their way to harass a lot of people. Screenshots were taken showing them trying to circumvent blacklists by emote harassing their targets, and when they failed they would try to find a random person to cry to about how everyone was just being 'mean' to them. I one time was one of those random people and the conversation that happened once I realized who the person was - they named changed and raced changed like every week and I know this because their harassment got so bad entire groups passed around their lodestone to keep track of it all - was baffling. Until then I had just assumed the whole thing was being blown out of proportion due to my lack of direct dealings with the person. I came away from it having to swallow down my words /very/ quickly as I wondered about their mental health.

The worst of it happened in discord but since SE can't do anything about third party communications even with mountains of evidence of them going on targeted harassment campaigns, nothing could be done. In the end what stopped them wasn't a GM. They moved to another server because the community had to step in and police their behavior, spreading the pages upon pages of disgusting behavior across dozens of witnesses and testimonials around to various FC's and putting out their lodestone so people wouldn't be duped by a name change. Eventually they ran out of people to buy their sob story only to learn the hard way not long after that it was all, sadly, very true.

To my knowledge, I lost track of their lodestone after switching computers because the lock on Balmung made it impossible for them to come back and don't really care to track it down for old drama that might have been solved, they are still playing this game in spite of being reported very /very/ often. So while some things don't add up, I very much can believe the spiel about the GM's and their inactions.

They need to make the blacklist account-wide, so if you blacklist someone, you don't see any words from any characters they make. If they want to harass you still that way, they'd have to get multiple accounts, which would hopefully deter them a little. They also need to make the blacklist have more effect, as others have mentioned in the thread.

I haven't read all of the pages yet, but I know this guys from Mateus (The OP). He's an absolutely stand-up guy, and I'm absolutely appalled that Square-Enix isn't helping him out.
