New Game+: Can we undo it?

    More elaboration on the question...

If I choose to do NG+, will I be able to undo that choice so I can continue with the current MSQ (when it goes live)?

The reason I ask, I want to use NG+ to level my DNC and GNB, but I may not want to go through all of the current MSQ (or rather, ShB MSQ) before I do that. But if I start NG+, will I be stuck with that until I go through everything again or is it something I can turn off to continue the current MSQ?

From the last live letter it seems like you can turn it off but I didn't see anything about gaining any xp while going through it.

I don't think you would get any exp from replaying content you already played.

It would be easily abused. Just pick the fastest MSQ that rewards a lot of exp and spam it repeatedly.

I'd be okay with it for alt leveling, even if it was xx% based on how many times you run it? Decreasing returns?

I understood as NG+ starts at the first MSQ and you proceed from there, not that you got to choose which MSQ you wanted to do.

I also haven't seen any official confirmation about no exp, just implications that it would give the same rewards as the first time through.

Too much information lacking on this feature...

My information is you choose a patch story (2.x 3.x, 4.x), and it'll run through that story and patches. I'm not sure if it willingly goes to the next or lets you choose between or not though.

At FanFest Paris, Yoshi-P/tr:Koji said that NG+ doesn't interfere with your for-real MSQ progress, and you can resume it at any time.

    * I interpreted this as "done for now", not "done with the entire chosen section of NG+", as the latter interpretation would mean that NG+ locks you out of your current MSQ, affecting your MSQ progress, which conflicts with the claim that NG+ doesn't affect your MSQ progress.

The whole point of it is that it's separate to your real progress.

Imagine that your real quest data is in one database, and your New Game+ data is in another database. It's something like that.

It may not be available until patch 5.1 according to the live letter.

I wouldn't call it abuse, I would call it a reasonable way to gain levels. The way you level in FF14 is mind-numbingly boring. Conspiracy theorists believe it's on purpose to sell leveling pots xD

Quests don't give much XP anyways, I don't see why we can't just earn XP again. You are putting time and effort into completing something, so you should be rewarded not punished.

Guess we will just have to wait until the full details are released as anything said up to now has been vague and open to multiple ways to interpret.
