Based on the videos it looks like only one player needs to get over and DPS the boss's barrier down. If you go in with the Thancred Trust he'll always make it while going in with both Alphi and Minfillia results in both of them at best getting halfway through by the time the player and other Trusts make it and take it down.

The question of course becomes what happens if all four people keep failing to make it. Because you don't die when you fail, you get to keep trying but the boss has a cast timer. (Probably wipe)

I havent posted here in a while. But there is something I have to vent.
Probably this has been said many times.. it has to be.. I dont know I havent seen it..

My story Im a veteran by now of mmorpgs. Have played them many years. Specifically FFXIV I have been playing around 4y now. LOVE the game. Im a main healer at heart, So my heart is with WHM, BUT, this last expansion I have played mostly AST.

AST is fun at the moment (dont know about future that is a different discussion). I love playing it.

This last expansion has showed me, what triggers me the most in all mmorpgs I have played so far. The lack of CO-OP, understanding between AST. When you go to a trial/raid, you work on that AOE Balance, you get it out, for then your supposed friendly AST healer pop a AOE Bole, 3-4 seconds after your balance it out.

This just happened to me 3 times in the same trial in Castrum Mer..... CMON!! The amount of times I saw this happened was bad..

ASTs if you are paired with another AST dont look only at their stance.. if shield or heal over time... look at the buffs also.. WORK TOGETHER!!

If you see balance/damage aoe up, if you see Crit Aoe up, wait a bit until it is over.. then put your aoe arrow or bole.. whatever.. Work together. Think what is best for the party....

Try doing that with a controller.

That's what I'll be doing. And it looks like you don't die, you just have to start over if you fall. So I'll see if I can rush it first, then be more careful if I fall.

Yeah that's sadly common :/ I even try to communicate with fellow ASTs to coordinate the cards, but... very few seem to even look at chat.

I'm sure you all know how that ended.

The DRG decided to call out the SCH for "standing in the corner" and "the fight wouldve gone faster of they did anything other than nothing".

I can understand the issue with not soaking the meteors but what's wrong with a tank using a LB when the damage dealers are neglecting it? ((I've never had a tank use a LB and I don't know what it does.))

Tank LB is usually only used in special situations (like in A12) to avoid lethal damage, as it is a mitigation skill. In every other case it's an waste of massive DPS - especially in Chrysalis where the common strategy is to use the Melee-(or at least an DD-)LB3 for the DPS-check.

Went into Orbonne for weekly stuff. Q took about 30 min to get in and I've noticed a high amount of newcomers in my party.

Getting ready to explain mechs but then someone pulls. "We'll wing it I say, but after multiple people dying to analysis multiple times I start having doubts. I believe we went through about 3 rounds on Analysis before we killed Mustard.

Get to Agrias and I give a breakdown of the main mechanics for it. A BLM in my party, bless his heart, pulls the boss and I immediately say "Don't do that". This BLM in particular might as well have the status Brink of Death branded on him as he died CONSTANTLY. Almost to a point where I was ready to tell people to save the MP if I ate shit due to aoes for me instead since I had refresh. We wipe due to adds being too close and start over again. Heal drops midfight so we get a WHM (thank god). We manage with heals dying in the shadow realm and make our way.

I halt everyone and go over TG's mechanics. My lovely BLM doesn't understand the concept of TG's donut/circle aoes and constantly get hits by them. There was an rdm that did the same but at least they were able to help raise people. We get to adds (BLM and RDM dead) and fail the dps check. We go back in and everyone but I believe our SCH dies to raidwide damage from duskblade. Heal LB 3d us to the ice and though we didn't kill the ice and ate the aoe we lived. That save was incredible and it let us beat TG.

Get to Ultima, and I'm thinking "This will be easier then TG". Multiple people died during the invul section, and we fail the dps check. I give a quick play by play for after that phase and while someone people didn't intercept, we managed. Shadowbringers can't come any sooner.
