You don't need to complete 2.0 to access samurai and red mage. You just need to have Stormblood registered, and get your character to Lv50.Samurai and RED MAGE start at 50, and you need to complete The Ultimate Weapon quest (that is, base 2.0 content, so you'll already have one level 50), this was after the backlash against HW's jobs being locked behind finishing all of ARR quests and starting at level 30. NINJA starts as Rogue at level 1 and you only need to unlock the Armoury system.
Blue mage is the only job implemented since Heavensward that is locked behind completing MSQ content.
I'm... agreeing with you? Was just adding my own experiences to note how silly that argument people make is. It wasn't directed at you.That's....the same thing as what I said?
If a player is actually good, he will find ways to improve. I'm not against level skips, I was pointing out to the other person that skip or not, someone who is essentially a potato will remain a potato.
I'm not sure what your point is.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Ohhhhh that entire post makes a lot more sense now.
Welp, I failed. Gonna go backflip off of Titan Hard and remain true to the dragoon lifestyle.
I know that many people these days believe that end game is the real game in mmorpgs, but that is a fairly new concept. In ffxiv's case it has kept a older style of mmorpg. The real game is the adventure THROUGH the game, not any specific part of it. So no, there should be no skipping of anything imo. Like others have said, the msq from 2.0-2.5 needs some work, but nothing else.
That adventure is so comically bad it caused all of my real life friends to quit the game and a dozen others I met through the internet and invited to FF14.
Out of the 40 people or so I invited to this game, only TWO stayed. And both of them despise the "adventure" through the game.
And I have about 7-10 people start the game and love it and are still playing. This argument is invalid. /endthreadThat adventure is so comically bad it caused all of my real life friends to quit the game and a dozen others I met through the internet and invited to FF14.

Maybe... the game just wasn't for them? That adventure is so comically bad it caused all of my real life friends to quit the game and a dozen others I met through the internet and invited to FF14.

The Mythical Man Month was first published in 1975, but it still holds true today. More people don't necessarily speed up software development. In fact, throwing more people on the team often has the opposite effect. I say that as someone who has worked as a software developer for 18 years.
I'm the wrong person to throw that at. I acknowledge that most players would find this incredibly annoying, but I tend to do this anyway. In fact, I'm often annoyed when I hit level cap in WoW without having set foot in half the areas.
Besides, won't that still hold true even if you get a boost to 50?
It's a no from me, cheif.
Consolidate the quests, which yoshi-p has already said its on their roadmap (look up one of the hundreds of QnA videos from the media events, its on one of them). It's just not a priority, and rightly so. If a new player is coming to the game, I would urge them to do the MSQ at least once. Beyond that, it's up to them what they want to do.
Now for the real tea: This sounds like a complaint coming from someone who has too many alts and wants a quick, free fix. As someone stated previously (on the first page at least), WoW did this exact thing with Death Knights and later Demon Hunters. It removes so much of the game from you. It's quite frankly a silly thing to actively remove chunks of the game from you.
