Deaspected Crystals - lore, helm, and garleans

what can you use these crystal for atm in game?
I have a few but need find out where to use them.

Yes as mentioned it is a Lalafell NPC in an all black cowl. He is on the other side of the road from the chocobo NPC

I'd like to know why killing Garleans rewards these. I was under the impression that they wanted nothing to do with the Primals.

Perhaps time will tell, or they're using them for some other purpose, or merely studying them. Maybe magitech (how to you spell that?) generates them. /speculation

Yeah the Garleans are most likely sapping the aether from the crystals themselves now. It's been stated they need all the aether they can get so that they can summon Meteor.

I support that theory. It's even stated in one quest (I believe in Ceruleam Shock) that something the garleans are doing in Mor Dhona is disrupting the return of aether, and this is the reason unaspected crystals can be found there for one of the main quest missions (Unaspected crystals being similar to deaspected crystals). It wouldn't be a stretch to say that on top of draining the aether that's returning through silvertear falls, they are also draining the energy directly.

There's an achievement that's called Escape from Mistbeard Cove on ffxivpro.com/achievements/list on the last page.

It says it's a "towncrier" type achievement.
