I played 1.0, but didn't come back to FFXIV for ARR. Returned maybe a month before 3.0's launch at my friend's insistence.

Got to Sastasha and my friend tried to explain Limit Break to me at the pull right before the final boss. Basically telling me where to find the skill icon so that I could put it on my skill bar. Before she could finish explaining it though I went ahead and used on a random mob. Luckily it was a pre-made party and they all thought it was really funny.

I did a similar thing on a (now deleted) character when I was a SMN. I liked the gathering jerkins around level 30 so I wore one of those for a while instead of what I was supposed to be wearing because I never liked the robes that casters wear. I figured if I was allowed to wear them then there wasn't a problem. Not sure how long it lasted. I definitely remember glamouring it on over WHM stuff I wore at 50 because glamours were finally added around that time.

When I first started in ARR I was leveling DRG. At some point I was messing with the chat settings. From a certain point on (from the mid 20s I think to about lvl 45) no one was communicating through chat and I couldn't understand why. Turns out I had turned party chat off, and people WERE trying to communicate and I couldn't see it. I felt like an idiot.

I've seen people wondering about things like this in other forum threads. Often times it may seem like a mystery but the reality is sometimes pretty simple: honest mistakes.

Back in ARR i used to meld Piety materia on my DRG when i was lvl 50. Because that was one DRG's main stats in 1.0. All that MP tho!

I used skull sunder by itself when i was struggling for agro.. i did this for too many dungeons.. i knew about the combo but i thought it just did more damage not more emnity :#

I played summoner under the illussion it would be based on summoning creatures like in previous final fantasies. Hell was I dissapointed when I saw the egis

I started as Gladiator, and by god I was slow. Molasses slow. I would open the map and and sit there as I tried to find where to go, in dungeons. I had weird pauses between pulls because I was weirdly hyper focused on mob order and would try to mark them all in the way I wanted them killed. Oh god I was terrible.

I used bane without putting on any DoTs.. a lot. I'm sorry!

Thinking ARR trashcan plate was endgame design and rerolled instead of doing research or just lvling a different class.

I didn't unlock materia until I was main tanking coil turn 4.

I hated mining that much.
