I do not usually do this, especially with troll posts but I cannot resist. I am going to use over-used phrases just for this.thats the thing, re-read your last sentence...its NOT profitable whatsoever right now (box sales are 1 time thing and not selling boatloads), like another guy said its pretty much in beta, so for quite some time we wont be paying for it, we are pretty much waiting on some major changes to the game, like large combat changes. why not keep the servers off, save some money and electricity and come back on when at minimal the big portion of the combat stuff is done (its going to be weird having stuff suddenly play differently all of a sudden anyways)
"Cool story bro!"
or... wait for it.... WAIT FOR IT!
"Don't tase me bro!"
Both phrases are applicable. Carry on.
Your username is not misleading, and I am terrified. SheBitez...for JUSTICE.For the very few in this thread who believe it is in the best intrest of se and Japan for them to keep the servers down longer...do your part and DO NOT log back in until you feel it has been a reasonable amount of time to do so. As for the rest of us, we will be logging in bright and early fri morning.
And as much as I bet you hate to admit it...I bet you guys who keep complaining that the servers are coming back up, will be logging in right along with us. so stfu now!
So me saying its THEIR decision is a childish response with NO reasoning? lmao ok very logical statement by you indeed.
edit: Also YOU know me so well that YOU know for a fact I would throw a fit? lmao
Stick around some more and you might catch a glimpse of how I am.

except after that free month, we start paying again, 14 people wont be paying for a long time...so where does what you said make any sense? FFXI will be around for a while longer making money, 14 right now has been a disaster and the chances of it being anywhere close to as profitable as FFXI (or even going as long) is much less. Today MMO players dont give games much of a chance, we already see this with 14, its mostly dead and it F2P.i'll match opinion with opinion. since xi users have a free month and are not paying for it, se is working on the new game not the old outdated one, and they need the xiv servers up for opinions why not keep the xi servers down and put up the xiv servers. it will save energy and since nobody is paying for the servers this month and they are not working on it right now they could conserve and save.
FFXI at launch didnt have much more then 14 does now, things like standards have changed and there is PLENTY of MMOs people can play now or even look forward to, so even with a good launch, the chances of the game lasting and keeping as many subs compared to back then is nothing near it.
there isnt much keeping 14 afloat right now other then the name and the promise of a better future. Im still holding out it will become my next big MMO to spend years on with my RL friends, but it wont be that way for quite a while and SE might want it to last 10 years and have a good amount of subs, but right now its looking bleak, unless they make the game awesome in a short time and time the ps3 release just right, the games gonna sink and they will have nothing.
again servers arent lite on power usage, it only makes sense they take up a large part of the power use, so keeping down the free, beta state game (or even both, though FFXI will eventually go back to making money) can only help with power saving and money. Right now its up for good graces to keep people around. You dont need facts for the obvious to make any sense (aka: keeping FFXIV running =/= making money or save power)
again if people are willing to leave the game because they keep the (atm) non money making game up, then the game is screwed already. Knowing what going on you would expect a bit more sympathy from players that know they are not helping them make money right now. If anything, the biggest portion of what they will have for subs will be the loyal people who would wait on the game, the people like me watching as it changes, and the new crowd from the "re-release" when the ps3 version is out, not the people who would leave in a fit of rage from some extra down time.
Bad post if u continue chuck norris will...

FACTS! GIVE THEM OR SHUT THE FUCK UP! I've asked TWICE now, and I won't ask again. Give us facts, or stop posting. Your walls of text are meaningless without proof to back them up. I just don't get it.
SE made this choice. The choice is made. This post shouldn't have ever been in the first place. If you are going to argue with anyone that the servers should not be brought online yet, email SE.
Also, Please PLEASE please! Spread the word to those that do not know. Having the servers down/offline has no impact whatsoever on patch progress. NONE. Please realize this.
