I’ve actually made some good friends standing around at the quicksands, even though I don’t rp. Granted I do get the occasional daddy comments in tells from thirsty sprouts. My favorite was when world visit was brand new, a cat boy from Mateus got upset because I wasn’t interested in having an erp session with them.

Yeah, the Quicksand certainly attracts certain...'types' of RP, but you can find actual good RP there as well.

I guess I should count myself lucky that the most I tend to get there are vague comments about my characters looking nice and nothing overtly sexual.

lol, this is how I approach Uldah as well. I don't mind RP, I just don't partake in in myself. And then I feel sort of guilty/bad if I'm loitering in the area as to me it then feels like I'm trying to trick them into thinking I'm there for something when I'm not? Obviously it shouldn't matter, but there is no helping how the mind works. :x

Oh don't get me wrong, no judgement to those who RP (a number of my friends are also big RP advocates) - it's just not something I want to do when playing the game. That and I don't want to interrupt the world they've set up themselves by being the guy jumping up and down and saying "lol brah I don't want no ERP (/RP) in your cottage, Thal's sweet succor has to wait". Because I know other people are doing this sort of stuff I tend to go out of my way not to run my character and mounts through their body or run on top of tables (which I'd totally do if this was a sRPG.. skyrim tables and counters are not safe from me! ).

I actually came to Balmung via Besaid / Fabul server merge before I knew of RP server and what all (long ago). I've found there is a sort of undercurrent of prejudice to RP players, which even flows onto me occasionally mostly from people seeing I'm from Balmung and imagining not only do I spend most of my time RP/ERPing but that I also forced my way into the server and it's all my fault that Balmung has a housing crisis (none of which is true lol). Good stuff .

You get it! hahaha. Early on I had walked away from my PC and came back to a number of /tells of people attempting to strike up a conversation, in which I had ignored them (away from keyboard ofc).. I felt sheepish lol.

Endorsing and just turning a blind eye aren't really the same thing.
