    Fresh 70 and Shadowbringers iLvL

    Hello FFXIV community!

I started FF14 a couple of weeks ago to join my friends, and I reached 70 yesterday.
As a WoW refugee, I really love the game so far. I feel a bit bad because I should had start FFXIV earlier.

As you know Shadowbringers will release soon but I've some concerns about:
I'm only iLvL 300 now and I would like to start the new expansion at its release day... But I read that post-Stormblood last MSQs, require and iLvL 360 and I must complete them in order to get access to Shadowbringer MSQ (or maybe I'm wrong ?)

So is there a way to get iLvL 360 faster or are there any cath-up mechanics ? I would consider to buy skip potions but I don't know if the new ones will be available at launch.
My goal is just beeing able to play Shadowbringers the 28th june and not weeks after.

    Thanks.

Just play the MSQ. The post leveling MSQ isn't so long.
For Gear you can buy ilvl 380 from the Marketboard or you just buy tome gear along the way you complete the MSQ.
The lower tomestone gear is ilvl 360 and you will earn many tomestones on your way through the MSQ and maybe unlocking the rest of the dungeons.
It's still more then 3 weeks till Shadowbringers launch and enough time to get some decent gear and complete the post leveling MSQ to be ready for the next expanson.

Just wanted to add this link: https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/w..._70_Gear_Guide

I find it pretty neat as I can see tiers of gear and where they are from, then you can decide the steps you'll take to get to the ilvl you desire.

As Legion88 said you can always buy crafted gear to get an iLvl good enough for the expansion that is also very easy to get if you have the gil. But depending on the time you want to put in you can also easily get some other good quality gear without spending any gil.

    Thank for your replies.

Buy iLvL 380 items from the Marketboard is not really an option for me, I just have 1.5 Mil of gils and I would to save a bit.

If you do MSQ get that done no matter what. Tack on a daily lvl 70 Roulette, change that to Expert Roulette when you get it unlocked, and on days you can do Alliance Raid Roulette. Doing just that between now and like June 20th, you will easily make it to i370+

Tho without the MSQ being done, you are not touching Shadowbringers on day 1. Gear tho, that can be handled in as little as 25min a day.

you mentioned starting a few weeks ago to join friends...are any of them crafters? You don't necessarily have to buy crafted gear if you have friends.

Jump on a hunt train, and Centurio seals can get you up to 340, I think. Weekly B rank hunt bill helps with that. Remember HW hunts also give seals, so, shouldn't be too long to get that far. From there, just spend whatever Genesis tomes you've got on Scaeven 390, and spend Mendacity on Ryumyaku 360.

Between seals and tomes from that, plus whatever tomes you can scrape together from dungeons/roulettes, shouldn't have much trouble meeting minimum.

These are just easy mode options. Obviously you've also got dungeon drops that can help with that, or do some raids, whatever. But seals/tomes just kinda happens on as you go anyway, so, simple way to upgrade.

Unfortunatly, no one among them have enough crafting level to make any high end items. Also, they are relatively new to FFXIV.

Ok nice, it's crystal clear now.

Yeah, but, like you said, is a start. Any upgrade can be nice. Don't forget, you can also buy the items to upgrade the 330 to Augmented 340 with seals as well.

One additional thing that came to mind: Wouldn't be a bad idea to hold onto your Poetics as well. If you've got a good stash of them, when expansion launches, all the Genesis/Mendacity items should be available for Poetics. So, by then if you're still missing some stuff and didn't have enough to upgrade to Scaeven, you should be well set to buy all you need with Poetics at launch.

Although, thinking about it, you're still looking to hit 360 before then, so you can run MSQ all the way through, so, maybe that's just a "just in case you don't quite make it" idea.
