HW Dark still the best DRK

HW Dark still the best DRK

HW DRK WAS THE BESTEST EVAR!!!! - That was then
OMG SB DRK HAD SO MUCH DEPTH WITH DA SPAM YOU COULD PLAN UR BURST DUUUUDEEEE!!! - This is now, the reaction after the reveal of ShB DRK.
reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....
Cry more, I think DRK looks fun in the expac. You have Darkside, Mana, and Blood to manage, three resources that other tanks don't have to bother with. Makes it unique. PLD is unique in the way that it deals damage with a dot, spammable move, and magic. WAR is fun because it has a huge burst phase that you build up to, and you manage infuriate and the beast gauge. Gunbreaker has this weird thing with ammo.
"It's not good!" people who literally haven't played it...AT ALL, when we hardly even know how the jobs will play in normal, not even EX or savage content and everyone is doom and gloom.
Would like to offer something more productive but REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Is sufficient enough. Most here and other places that were vocal on this topic whined, bitched and moaned about DA spam... they got rid of DA spam. They gave you what you wanted and whined about. I think DRK will be just fine.
Personally, I'd like to see something akin to how WAR worked with Big Zerk and Mini Zerk before it was consolidated into single IR windows, but that's just me. I like how all the tanks play now, and will like how they play in ShB.

You are using the word "management" a little lightly. What about the new DRK looks like "managing" these three different things will even be somewhat akin to a struggle?
Darkside management refreshes being 30s and it being tied to the only real mana expender, even more in the case of the new dark arts we get via popping TBN, hardly makes that management. I wouldn't really call that management, I'd call that not falling asleep at your keyboard. Where's the interplay with Living Shadow, and why is that ability going to be utterly ridiculous to even attempt to sync up with raid buffs?
Face it, DRK went from the most flexible tank to the most rigid one.
If you think it looks fun, why are we not allowed to think it doesn't look good? We keep being told not to make a prejudgement, but here you are. Thinking it looks good is still a prejudgement.
That aside, yes, some people wanted to be rid of constantly using DA; they did not mean they wanted to be rid of a high APM, and to my understanding it seems a bit clear that most people who play DRK enjoy that aspect of it. But oh wait, let's fit all of our double weaves inside a 10s window because that version of spam sounds a little better. (not really.) Unless they heavily adjusted potencies and mana regen, then we're gonna be playing way slower than before. Find someone in the feedback threads that asked for this job to be slower.
And "cry" we shall, if that means getting back even a speck of what we liked of the job before. Are you here to troll or something?

And suddenly, for no reason at all, DRKs began to feel animosity toward WAR mains.HW DRK WAS THE BESTEST EVAR!!!! - That was then

I felt animosity towards WAR since they got buffs that made DRK look like **** during 4.x which is around the time party finders were locking out DRK because they didn't have raid wide shields...
Also I never did like how Bloodspiller is Fell Cleave basically, but I do appreciate that not spamming it like Fell Cleave was nice though(btw I actually used a job boost thing for WAR just to see if people are claiming it as good as they as it is but there were definitely times were DRK was better over WAR because of magical tank busters)...
But now it definitely feels like in Shadowbringers they don't know how to re-purpose multiple abilities to help give some jobs more of an identity that isn't just "tank" although GNB looks like they have a solid foundation in terms of DPS rotation for single target and AoE...

Feedback based on how the job plays, which you can get an idea of how it will flow by looking at the tooltips (yes we all know the tooltips can change which almost everyone has said ahead of their initial posting), isn't whining. It's letting the dev team know they missed the mark in some ways. Just like WARs did before 4.2...
If you want something akin to how WAR plays then PLAY WAR, after all it is you main job according to the posting. You know it is possible to come up with a burst window that doesn't look exactly like WAR and by extension PLD.
Many DRK mains got into tanking for the DRK and they don't like how WAR plays but for you it must be nice to have a job you love playing to fall back on (if you play DRK at all). You complain about how DRK threads are whiny but have you not seen the threads on the WAR side? If you think the threads regarding issues with the flow of the job are whiny then what do you think about these:
Improve Inner Chaos sound effect
Warrior isn't being treated fairly and is losing its identity - please give back HP.
Suggestion for the new WAR animations in 5.0
WAR Same HP as Others.
WARs have a right to complain, ask for things, and usually you get them. DRKs have a right to complain as well. There is enough out there to point to things that may be issues. We are getting a head start because last go around the DRK community was NOT treated fairly compared to the other tanks WHO GOT THE ATTENTION THEY SHOULD HAVE RECIEVED FROM THE DEV TEAM. We should have received the same attention. As far as things about HW DRK and SB DRK being liked. Sure there were aspects of both iterations that people like. Those positive attributes should have been built upon.

You're acting like there's some paradox here, but... there isn't.
HW DRK, for instance, allowed you to bank MP for your burst. In SB, this still remained something of a conscious effort. In ShB, it won't be; you use two skills at the 60-second mark for the TA window and then... wait 60 seconds. There is, therefore, a progression of loss, not some change of opinion over what constitutes good gameplay. You lost some and gained slightly less one expansion and then you lost a great deal more and gained virtually nothing the next.
Being whipped once and feeling pain doesn't make it paradoxical when you get whipped a second time and still... feel pain, even if you may more strongly feel the more recent loss of skin than the first time's.
