    Share your character!

Dunno if there would be any interest, but open invitation for players who like coming up with stories for their FFXIV character to share bios and a reference picture.

To keep things under control I'd like to request that any backstories be limited to around 3000 characters or less, limited to one picture of your character.

Non-RPers and RPers both welcome. I figure it's just fun sometimes to see what people come up with.

Very straightforward here haha, this is completely an excuse for anyone who wants to talk about their OC to do so. I personally like seeing how inventive people get, maybe others feel similarly!

Cenric was found at Thal’s Respite as an infant, completely alone. Immin Asher (a wandering medicine peddler) found him while mourning his wife. Although he had no way of knowing Cenric’s origins, Immin believed the child was compensation from the Traders for the future he'd lost with his spouse.

Growing up, Cenric was very reserved. He acted as an assistant to his adoptive father, which initially meant making potions to sell. As time went on, he started learning about medical procedures and how to tend injuries without the luxury of conjuring. Cenric was desensitized to bodies and death from a very young age as a result. Perceived morbidity, looks, plus constant traveling earned him few friends. Occasionally there would be rumors that he was voidsent or a son of Thal.

When Cenric was 14, he and Immin reached a village on the outskirts of Thanalan. There were unique resources to collect, so they remained for some time. Partway into their stay plague struck. The two did what they could, but when people started dying panic took the community. A small mob, convinced that the situation was Thal demanding tribute, tried to ritually sacrifice Cenric. Immin saved his life but lost his own. Cenric escaped into the desert.

For the next few years Cenric made a living conning customers with medicine of dubious quality. This resulted in the death of at least one child, and following a confrontation with the grieving mother Cenric suffered a total mental collapse. His memory surrounding the Calamity is hazy, although he remembers being driven by hunger to begging in the streets.

Cenric became seriously ill a year before his adventure began. The irony of his situation drove him to hysteria and he prayed obsessively at an altar to Nald’thal. This involved begging for mercy, begging for death, believing himself a demigod, believing himself an agent of death, lashing out at the Traders, lashing out at others, etc. The affair lasted nearly a full day.

Cenric was knocked unconscious (with very little effort) by the nearby clergy in order to remove and treat him. A visiting thaumaturge named Memesu examined Cenric and found he had tremendous aetheric potential. This confirmed nothing, but she was able to direct Cenric toward Ul’dah.

Cenric begins as very cynical, although this shifts. Due to his past he craves luxury and status. His previous escapades as a con-artist have left him with a strong desire to atone, so he uses the destructive force of black magic to protect others. He has a decent education due to his upbringing and the time he spent among priests, although there are gaps. He tries to show off more when he’s insecure.

Kiyo Shirogane was born and raised in Kugane to a noble family. Her parents (Haru and Hinako) competed fiercely against other households for power and bakufu favor--playing a large role in the development of housing for foreign adventurers. Kiyo has two older brothers (Motohiro and Yoshino), an older sister (Saya), and a younger sister (Chiyome).

Kiyo herself is lighthearted, prone to daydreaming, and deeply curious about the world. She has always been very empathetic toward others due in part to the Echo. Her experiences with the Echo used to come in less frequent, more ambiguous bursts but have become more common as she gets older. She enjoys reading and developed a taste for adventure through heavily romanticized stories. She’s always felt as if she was living in a bubble in Kugane, with war and hardship just beyond the shores. She loves her parents dearly but doesn’t always listen to them, often stealing away with Chiyome to watch foreign traders in the market. One of these was a Gridanian conjurer named Aulert Duisame, sent to study similarities between geomancy and his art. Kiyo was curious and fascinated, begging her parents’ permission to travel to Eorzea and determine whether foreign elementals are similar in nature to kami. Her mother disapproved enormously and considers the venture a waste of time and a distraction, but her father believed the experience might help grant perspective. In the end they consent.

Kiyo can be nosy, a mischievous, and utterly oblivious at times. She has tremendous compassion but is often tactless. She’ll gesticulate wildly more times than not because it’s made people smile for as long as she can remember. She begins quite naïve and takes up adventuring largely as a way to support herself while exploring. It comforts Kiyo to know that even so far from home the kami are watching over her.

I don't RP, but I do keep a personal character lore written down and rewrite it a lot due to new info with each expansion. I will do my best to summarize it though, since it is currently 5, almost 6 pages long. And I do really mean summarize, there's a lot of smaller events that are just fluff or I felt like adding. Most MSQ stuff plays out as normal too, since I can't rewrite the whole of the game. Note that I kinda make a couple things up to explain some things, but use what's happened in the story and such to inform these things. On top of this, note that as of the latest rewrite, I just completely ditched the leftovers from 1.0.

Sakya arrived at Ul'dah in a caravan that found her passed out on the side of the main road leading to Ul'dah. When she woke up, she didn't know where or who she was, outside of her name. During one night in Ul'dah, she is attacked by two angry Ul'dah citizens but is rescued by Hamon Holyfist who offers her shelter at the Pugilist's guild. That night, Hydaelyn visits Sakya in her dreams and lays out the whole warrior of light thing. Sakya requests t be trained by Hamon. She would gain a rep in Ul'dah until eventually Raubahn notices her and urges her to join the Immortal Flames, which she does. During Immortal Flames business, she encounters the scions and events play out as normal, including the MNK quests and her going up in the ranks of the Immortal Flames, till between ARR and Heavensward.

Sakya performs a very large, and very dangerous two handed twin strike variant of Final Heaven that I call "The Jaws of Heaven" to stop a very powered up Ifrit from marching into Ul'dah. Though she stopped Ifrit, all this ended with the nerves of her hands being afflicted with "Aether Burn", basically this makes it so she cannot channel Aether through her hands and her hands cannot be healed, as the burn negates Aether. Thus sacrificing her career as a MNK in order to push Ifrit and the Amalj'aa back. Events play out as normal into Heavensward where she goes through the trials and becomes an Astrologian. Events will then play out as normal until reaching the Azim Steppe where during some downtime Sakya is confronted by an elder of the Mol who proclaims through tears that she has finally found her and claims that Sakya is her daughter, queue the Echo looking into the woman's memories until Sakya finally sees herself in them. Causing a sort of feedback loop that makes the echo turn back in on itself and peers into Sakya's memories and reveals not only that the woman's claims are true, but everything that led up to her waking up in Ul'dah.

While part of a hunting party that travelled outside the Steppe, Sakya was captured by the Garleans and was sent to a labor camp in Eorzea, who needed a new mining crew after the last one died in a cave in. In Eorzea, the convoy transporting her and the other prisoners was attacked by the Amalj'aa, who captured several of the Garleans AND the prisoners and were ready to offer them to Ifrit. However, Sakya's Echo, which she has had since birth, protected her from Ifrit's tempering and before the Lord of the Inferno could kill her for defying his 'will', a flash of light would blind not only the primal but the Amalj'aa as well. A voice in her head telling her to flee. Which she did, running as fast and far as her body would let her until she collapsed at the main road and was found by the caravan. She'd go on to help Hien win the Naadam, become the Khagan and with her new authority, pledges the aid of the Xaela to Hien in order to free Doma.

PHEW! That's everything so far that isn't just part of the main story. Apologies if this goes a little too long. But, I just liked the thread idea and wanted to join in. Extra apologies for some cliches, I'm just a sucker for them. And yeah, hope you enjoyed.

Kacho Nacho was born in Cedarwoods and is the youngest of three children. His family grew oranges, limes, and lemons for the sailors of Limsa Lominsa. A kind soul, Kacho was constantly taking care of sick or injured animals, even ones considered pests.
His mother joked he would take in every ill animal in the world he could.

Kacho also loved the ocean shore and developed a reputation as being a beachbum. This was a bit unfair, as he spent quite a bit of time tending trees, his animals, and helping around the home.

One day, his family's orchard was attacked by kobolds. Kacho's brother was gravely injured in the attack. Kacho immediately dropped his staff and ran to his sibling.

Kacho tried to help his brother to no avail. His life was seeping into the ground.

A quiet voice urged the adolescent lalafell to lay his hands upon the young man. As if in a trance, Kacho placed his hands upon his sibling's chest and a green light glowed from his fingers. His brother's wounds closed and the lalafell began to breathe deeply.

Utterly spent, Kacho collapsed into the grass and lost consciousness. Amazed at the miracle, Kacho's family picked up both siblings took them into their bedrooms.

People from the surrounding farms heard of what occured and one of them mentioned the conjurors of Gridiana...

(( I know it's short but that's the basic outline of Kacho's backstory. More will unfold in the webcomic.))
