Which I found just a MITE insulting? FF14 wasn't my first MMO, true, but as a sprout my first time, I read tooltips, I read guides, I watched videos before I stepped into ANY dungeons (and I still do to refresh my memory, and I've played almost every class to at LEAST 50 by now; not saying I'm good, but yeah). I mean, the tank was PROBABLY right in that the guy was probably trolling, but ehn.

You do, I do, I'd expect most people who bother to visit a game's forum probably do.

But the kind of person who knows enough to read guides and interpret tooltips correctly is not the same person that ignores their job quests after it's been demonstrated they give you things.

So I have never understood the animosity between tanks in 24 man raid.

Because a lot of tanks are dps rolling tank for either fast queue or for the lulz to take a tank to 70 but without any interest to the class.

If MT dies, whoever get aggro will return it back after sickness ends. But you see, usually:
- ressed MT trying get aggro back even with sickness;
- OT not wanting give it back;
- last but not least, the other OT fighting for aggro too, (because clueless about stances than really want aggro himself? maybe);

But, about being annnoyed from something, nothing beats my daily Frontline experience:
you play Adders, found your party half Mael freelances, and them casually playing so bad to let the battle be lost from the start.

being called toxic for many reasons,

saying item level does not equal instant win. strat > ilvl anytime
saying that keeping players alive > dpsing as a healer when the dps does not apply strat, even in a ct up to wod ,keeps camping the red dots on the ground during boss fights
saying to someone that dpsing is not the apex of life goals as a healer because he//she complains that im not in the top 16 dps because im basicly a healer and that 24 players should not be relying on a healer to make the dps check. espacially in WoD in a group of 260+....
telling to a bunch of "emotionnaly wounded players" that i dont really care for their feeling as they stack 10 to 1 on me for speaking my mind and that i dgaf about sugar coating the fact that strats are always important.

but seriously..if thinking outside the box.... telling people that item level is irrelevant to a strat or even that they should not put their hopes of making a dps check on a i120 boss when they are all out geared in 260+ is being toxic...HELL! i'll be the most toxic player FF14 will have ever seen. and trust me i'll make an honor point of being that toxic healer you can rely on!

[edit just to rub it in] if you get your feeling hurt in a video game... god your life must be extremely miserable. go see a psychiastrist or get some anti depressor pills or something. cuz if word in a game hurt you.... you're going to get ripped apart by real life.

I mean... It doesn't really matter whether it's in a video game chat, over the phone, or in person, words can still hurt all the same. If some words would hurt one's feelings in real life, chances are the same would happen if they're delivered in a game. It's just another equally valid form of communication.
Now if your message was about the contents rather than context, i.e. getting one's feelings hurt due to having one's playstyle/ability criticized, then yes that person may need some assistance.

When you play a tank in dungeon, do you know what is more annoying than someone running in front of you and pulling mobs?

A WHM who is aoe stunning mobs during your pulling process and dpses mindlessly attacking those stunned mobs to the point where they are taking aggro from you when you are trying to pull big.

I had it today, my forehead is red from hitting myself.

Was doing Pharos Sirius HM I was a PLD, had a WHM, BRD, and DRG. Please keep BRD but more the DRG in mind.

I start doing some big pulls to the gate, WHM is doing fine, BRD is using aoe, DRG is using only single targets and Geirsh.

I do another big pull to the end of the hall (before the stairway down to the bomb generator). I'm stunning, flashing, aoeing, doing everything I can to hold aggro and do damage in sword. WHM is keeping up with me and the BRD is still doing AOE, the DRG is still doing single target combos when we have about 7 mobs in front of us.

I'm losing TP from TE so I say "We need tact or goad" and get no response at all. We end up finishing the mobs and I tell the DRG "You need to do more AOES". I can admit at this point I was little peeved at zero tact or goad being used so the way I said this can come off as rude. I didn't apologize for it during the time but I'd like to apologize for it now. I should have worded it as "May I make a recommendation?" or something on those lines. So that was my mistake.

Anyway back to my point, after making this statement the DRG says and I quote "My AOE is on Cooldown". I pause, and then realize at this point the only two moves this drg believes are aoe are DF Dive and Geirsh. I respond with "You have other aoe moves you can use. There's one you have around lvl 42"(couldn't remember the name at the time of the event but know it's Doom Spike now).

I get the absolutely classic line of "I'll play how I want to play, you don't pay my sub" and they immediately start attacking me over that statement.

The WHM then follows up "We're doing fine, I don't see what the problem is" and I pause and say "You have that skill there for a reason, it's not just for show." He says "DRG isn't my main job, SAM is". I'm just over here awestruck. Like SAM is even more intuitive with aoe and I'm just totally baffled.

The DRG gets super sassy during this entire run from here on out saying "Hold aggro" when he doesn't even use Div (or Elusive Jump) and is focusing all of his attacks onto one single target the entire time. Meanwhile I'm trying to clear this as quickly as I can tanking normally between shield/word oath going flash crazy and eclipsing still asking for basic role action needs from the dps.

We get to the final boss and start fighting and the adds spawn all around the ring. The DRG says "Hold Aggro" the moment they spawn and it's like dude they're all across the friggin map and will attack the healer first due to HoT. He still keeps berating me over this (when I'm already holding aggro on them by now btw) and I say in the chat "Are you gonna keep talking or are you going to dps?". The DRG has been typing this standing still while I'm managing aggro and has the nerve to say "I am" then go right back into his damn single target combo with four mobs on me.

Again I'll admit I handled the initial statement badly but man it's like if that's how you play an alt job I'd love to see how you play your main.

Oh no, I know kicking them was correct. But I always have in the back of my mind that thought that... maybe people really just... do forget or whatever. Or still think job quests aren't that important. Or... I don't know. But 90% of my brain was like: "No. Troll. Stand with tank, watch him die."

The point being that I was a little miffed at the "no actual sprout" comment. A lot of "actual" sprouts want to do good jobs and research as best they can. There's no need to demean people because they're new, and that's what I felt the tone conveyed. BUT HEY. Tone is hard to read over text, so yanno.

Easy peasy lemon sque - hey, I don't play BRD (well, I haven't yet, rather), but uh, being in synced gear that looks to be about level 50-60 (going on sight alone but it was NOT >40 gear), and then doing nothing but your AOE attack (Quick Knock? Wide Volley? I'm not sure what it's called) even on one enemy, until you're out of TP before you go to a single target rotation, that's...

Oh, and then Stone Vigil, and this DRK is in 28-35 gear. Not... terrible but oH GOD HIS HP IS GOING DOWN SO FAST I HAVE NO TIME TO DPS I -

And when we got to Isgebind he took off his level 37/41 (can't remember which) chestpiece and slapped on a level 28 one.

Presumably because of the Strife Vest glamour on it.

We did it because the DRG was a goddess, but the MCH kept dying because she took a spot wherever we were fighting and then never moved. No wipes though. Except the wiping of my salty, salty healer tears.
