And this is what I fear the most is that they screw MCH community again such blasphemy! *Switching to MNK this raid tier, till they fix my beloved MCH*.
Pretty much this.If they reworked the refresh effect on Gauss Round and Ricochet then there shouldn't be any need to weave during Overheat, you could just go to town spamming Heat Blast. Because of Heat Blast's cooldown refresh effect though you will probably need to weave Gauss Round and Ricochet at least once each if not twice to avoid losing damage.
If the refresh was reduced to say, 8 seconds, then all you would need to do is make sure you have no stacks of Gauss Round or Ricochet left before using Hypercharge, and you wouldn't need to worry about it, you could resume weaving after Overheat is over. To compensate for the loss of reducing the refresh from 15 to 8, you could simply increase the potency of those skills.
It's not going to matter that weaving is impossible during Rapid Fire if its unnecessary anyway, thats why Wildfire only factors weaponskills.
All that needs addressing is the risk of capping charges, please don't remove the 1.5s gcd.
I really hope this post catches the attention of SE, I just want to be able to play the job without having to weave inside of a 1.5s recast window. It's so frustrating especially given the changes to WF I thought all of the MCH ping woes would be at least alleviated but nope let's just slap 4x more RF into your rotation and you better believe they expect us to weave during all of it too. Ping issues have always got in the way of me truly enjoying this Job and it's getting ridiculous now.
I'm a SB MCH main, stuck to it through thick and thin. I see 0 reasons to play this boring 1 million cpm on 5 buttons class over actually fast paced and involved classes like MNK or BRD.
MCH is hard to get right. Why? Because WF and rapid fire are at the core of the class and that brings inherent problems if any weaving is involved. They should've just given us 5,6 different gcd buttons to press during WF without weaving and it would've kept us occupied. Now, you only have 1 actual gcd button during WF. And out of WF rotation? 123+a few ogcds, boring, bland, you can cook or vacuum your room while playing the class.
And what's the most annoying thing? People seeing fancy new animations and thinking the class is fixed now. Or people convincing me, or us, that you only actually have to weave one ogcd during WF. Even if they change the potencies, the weaving problem stays and I doubt they'll make significant changes before the launch.
To be perfectly honest with you, it's obvious that the game is going in the direction of simplifying combat and gameplay and focusing on what the vast majority of players actually want: glamour, housing, cute mounts and emotes. I do not think things are going to get better and I no longer feel the devs care for people who play this game for its Pve content.
I leveled this job in 3.X and I fell in love with the aesthetics, but I just couldn't perform with my ping. Then I leveled it in 4.X and I fell in love again... but I couldn't press that many buttons with my ping... It is just so disheartening when you practice, do things right and fast enough, but due to a less-than-ideal ping, your rotation still falls apart on you anyway. If they removed the weaving, it would be much smoother.
I hope the devs notice this post and save this awesome job before launch so we don't have to wait another 2 years to maybe be able to finally enjoy MCH.

I feel like Gauss Round and Ricochet were intended to share their cooldown? Having to only worry about one of them would help reduce the stress.
It would also open up space for Drill and Anchor to be oGCD too. It doesn't help with heavy weaving, but at least would be a step to getting somewhere.



Am I the only one who wants MCH to be fast paced?
From what I'm seeing, if you're able to Fuma without clipping as Ninja you could do fine with the rework MCH. You're all acting like you have to do a bunch of Raiton without clipping and with the whole Trick Attack debate that's just tryhards who feel afraid they'll get kicked out for not doing enough DPS in a speedrun which a good majority of us won't care about in NA/EU servers.

SE, please listen to everyone’s concerns. I really want to enjoy MCH. I loved how the ShB job trailer looked, but I want MCH to not be clunky or ping related job anymore. I enjoy trying to play the best I can by following guides by people like KitFox who spend a lot of time and effort into their respective roles. Please listen to them if they bring up problems found within their theorycrafting.
