I was so excited for what MCH could have been. I think we all were. All of the points made have been valid and as somebody who lives on the east coast of the USA I've experienced the ping frustrations first hand.
Making it 4x as bad is not the way to go. I respect the sentiment of this rework, but I think a lot of things mentioned by Lynn need to be re-evaluated by the dev team. I want the best for MCH and for anybody who plays it to feel good while doing so.
If they reworked the refresh effect on Gauss Round and Ricochet then there shouldn't be any need to weave during Overheat, you could just go to town spamming Heat Blast. Because of Heat Blast's cooldown refresh effect though you will probably need to weave Gauss Round and Ricochet at least once each if not twice to avoid losing damage.
If the refresh was reduced to say, 8 seconds, then all you would need to do is make sure you have no stacks of Gauss Round or Ricochet left before using Hypercharge, and you wouldn't need to worry about it, you could resume weaving after Overheat is over. To compensate for the loss of reducing the refresh from 15 to 8, you could simply increase the potency of those skills.
Completely agree. As a player who plays with 170 ping on average trying to weave oGCDs with a 1.5 sec GCD without clipping is actually impossible. Because of this I was forced to use the high-ping opener/rotation. Which is far worse compared to the low-ping one. And it has been frustrating for me because I really like MCH's gameplay and I want to play this job optimally, but my ping just will not allow that. While the obvious answer is to play another job that is not punished by playing it with high latency, MCH's aesthetics and gameplay are the factors that make me want to play the job. I hope the devs can find a way to fix it, 1.5 sec GCD just doesn't work with this game at all.

Good luck MCH mains

not a mch player, but logged on to bump awareness. I think this is important and I've always been interested in trying this class out.
I hope the devs notice.
Bumping for awareness.
It was frustrating having a job's performance restricted by low ping requirements.

I'd just like to add that these issues are also getting a massive response on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme..._4_times_more/
I truly hope the Devs are carefully considering the feedback. As fun as fast gcds can be with good connection, they can also be a real problem for the general player base.
I've mained and raided on MCH since Creator but I'm honestly considering finding something else this expansion. I live on the East Coast of the US and have to pay extra for a VPN just to play my preferred job and sometimes that's not even enough if the instance servers decide be even slightly laggy, but I'm just totally exhausted from the "MCH disappointment cycle" we've had for the last two years. SE has given me no reason to have faith that they wont again just leave MCH with these serious design issues for yet another two years.
Not to mention that I already get wrist pain when I play high CPM jobs for too long. If the final release of MCH really does have 50+ CPM, I might to have to pass for my own physical health.
I've been watching you, Fox and Aurily theorycrafting all day yesterday and today and I'd like to thank you all for your hard work. Hopefully actually SE listens this expansion.
