I hope you will. I also hope when it turns out that your obvious inexperience and lack of grasp on the mechanics of the classes in question results in you being catastrophically incorrect, you accept it with grace and poise.
This whole dumpster fire is fun to watch. Maybe when shb launches my positivity will be proven wrong but right now I love the changes coming to the healers and I'm looking forward to it. WHM is getting buffs to its dps and mobility. SCH is securing its position of the king of OGCD healing while finally severing itself more from SMN, and AST doesn't have fish for balances anymore because they'll always be providing their group with some sort of damage increase.
If I can survive and enjoy 4.0 sch, then I'm def gonna be in for a treat come 5.0.
I like a lot of it, but there are few sads too from things being removed. But you can't *not* reasonably expect a dumpster fire right now given no new healer job and the playstyle of many healers on existing jobs being altered. Lots of disappointment is being processed. Nothing wrong with either being excited for the changes or feeling like you were punched in the gut. Just gotta roll with either reaction and let people get used to what's comingThis whole dumpster fire is fun to watch. Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.
let them, if these dumpster fire will cause those "people" to leave the game, i will be happy about it. this makeover will attract new people and those that stay will replace them anyway.
call me naive, but i prefer this game to be more on sunshine and rainbow side than being toxic

All 3 healers got changes that weren't needed. Some got flat out gutted while others just got more of the same which is not what anyone needed or wanted. These people on the forums who have been here for a while and have seen the mess coming before from other expansions have every right to come here and complain that it's happening again and wish that it wasn't. What's worse is we can also predict the rate at which things will get changed, with SCH changes coming soonish after launch because it was gutted super hard core, AST getting buffed at the same time or soon after, and WHM possibly getting something at some point down the line, but never getting actually balanced with the other 2 healers.
This will be the 3rd expansion where SE has claimed they were trying to balance healers, and since they want healers balanced before adding a 4th healer to the mix, I see us not getting a healer until at least 7.0, maybe 8.0 if the game makes it that far. It's fair at this point for people to say that based on their past experiences, SE should have handled this "balancing" better, because we have given tons of feedback, and it's extremely frustrating that it seems to mostly be falling on deaf ears.
Just because people are upset over announced changes doesn't make them "toxic", especially since most of them really aren't being toxic. They're just super disappointed or upset at healers getting shafted/ gutted again.
As a main healer what I felt was that AST/SCH had their own identity where WHM needed a bit of help. So my expectation was they will tweek WHM and give it a bit of more flavour. What i was NOT expecting was to take the personality out of SCH and AST. So instead of having 2 good healers jobs and 1 meh.. we got 3 meh jobs so everyone is more or less on the same "level"... This is what im getting from these news
Pretty much this. I like WHM aesthetic but it was very boring to play, but at least I got two more healers. Now I have none.
If you think that debating something or criticizing something is being toxic, yes, you're very naive, to the point that it's, well, toxic. People that cannot endure a discussion about something are detrimental to the game development in general. They're way worse than someone that is mad and doesn't know how to develop a proper argument, because they bring absolutely nothing to the table.
I'm a long-time forum lurker here as I haven't put in the time you guys all have into healing, but I felt I had to chime in at least on this point. None of these guys are "paying to complain." They're here on this forum because they're extremely passionate about this game, and about their jobs - as I'm sure you are. I don't understand being so dismissive outright of your fellow players who have invested a LOT of hours into FF14. Some of these WHM/SCH/AST have been playing for 6 years or more. Of course their opinions are valuable (as are yours), even if they might be annoyed at these changes. They've ridden the waves of these balance patches and learned to adapt - and many, many of them feel as if these changes are just too much to adapt to. For my part (even though I'm very much a noob/forum lurker) I think that's worth listening to.
woah woah woah, that doesnt fit the arrogant narrative of "I dont play the other class and dont know at all why it upsets people, but the reason must be only I am capable of comprehending or accepting change. Its definitely I am better at receiving news".Hold up. How can you gauge the changes any more than someone who is upset with them because you are happy with said changes? How are you in any different of a position? If you feel we require hands on experience with the new expansion to actually get a feel of how jobs will play, this applies to both players who are happy or upset with the information given to us.
If I am wrong about this stuff I will make a thread about how terribly wrong I was and apologize to each and every person that's posted in this thread by name that feels their job is ruined now.
Here's the thing though. Being disappointed is not the problem I was talking about. That's perfectly reasonable. The problem I am talking about is stuff like http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...t-in-5.0/page1 this dumpster fire. This goes beyond being disappointed and just into the realm of childish. I understand what you are saying and am thankful that you're one of the people to actually be level headed about this stuff. If a local restaurant changes the recipe of my favorite dish to add or remove key ingredients, I can still be disappointed without trying the new version. I might choose to try the new version, or I might not, especially if something was changed that really made the dish sooooooo good. But either way I wouldn't be interested in having a stranger telling me to shut up and try the new dish before expressing my disappointment over the change.

Way to go letting the point of this thread to go right over your heads. I am not saying be happy with the changes or anything. I am clearly talking about just not whining like kids that your job is dead before you even get to play them. There is a very big difference and I expect you guys to be smart enough to figure that out. Because that's a pretty stupid twist on what I was talking about.Hold up. How can you gauge the changes any more than someone who is upset with them because you are happy with said changes? How are you in any different of a position? If you feel we require hands on experience with the new expansion to actually get a feel of how jobs will play, this applies to both players who are happy or upset with the information given to us.
