Same feelings, honestly.
I still feel Viera could have waited another expansion (their ears are also very stiff. Why)... or if I really speak honestly, not be added at all :^)
I quite like how Viera turned out, and I don't think the faces look all that similar, compared to midlander Hyur, Elezen, and maybe Lalafell, I'd say they have more facial diversity.

i would've preferred some other race instead of hrothgar. like bangaa to go along with viera, another ivalician race.
I'm pretty disappointed with the Hrothgar. Aside from the obvious issues (hair and face being linked), I think my biggest gripe is that, for some inscrutable reason, colors such as PINK and GREEN are options, but no Orange/Red. I guess it's alright to make a Lion-Man but not a Tiger-Man?
Female Viera are as unexciting to me as I thought they'd be, but Hrothgar look far better than they did in their intro trailer.
I'm not sure if I'd make an alt, but I look forward to playing around in the character creator once the game comes out. (PS4 player with a potato computer here.)
I don't think I mind the lack ofhairmane customisation because I'd prefer something that's made specifically to suit them, and that's probably the kind of hairstyle I'd pick for them if I had a choice. As far as "making unique characters" goes, I think more about making them different to my existing characters than worrying about whether they'll look different to other people's characters. I feel like that's inevitable in a multiplayer game like this.
They got "new" options, particularly the Hrothgar, but they got them instead of other things.
We were never promised "additional" options.

I really don't like the fact that hair is linked to face with the Hrothgar, and it greatly concerns me because they may not receive additional hairstyle options in the future if that is the case. The palette seems fairly limited in terms of hair/fur/skin color, and while having quirky colors such as pink, green, and yellow is neat they just seem a bit too unnatural...
Overall I admittedly got the impression that they were rushed.
The Viera are fine though I wish their ears had some movement to them to give them more life.
I'll definitely make alts for both races, but I'll never be 100% happy with them until they add in their missing gender counterparts.
My excitement to play a Viera got a bit temprred today when I saw how badly their emotes suck...

- They seem very much based on female Elezen, which are the worst emotes in the game. Viera are a little better, but not by much.

The lion men look cool but not slim option like ff10 ruined it for me
Viera interesting but meh.
But the lion kitties are welcomed even if they are an off brand beauty and the beast with rainbow dyed from the community
I don't mind Viera's emotes too much, because I was expecting them to be that way. Viera seemed like a strict, dignified race in FF12 when you see them in their village, and since Elezen are also dignified, their emotes would be similar to reflect that.My excitement to play a Viera got a bit temprred today when I saw how badly their emotes suck...
