    Why was Living Dead not removed?

    Honestly Living Dead is a terrible system and was one of the things I was hoping removed. Specially with Living Shadow being a new dps cooldown. It would have been cool if we had a special tanking version of this. Shadow protection where you summon your darkness to intercept incoming damage.

    Basicly a buff that like reduces 50% of incoming damage. This buff works before any other buff. Dropping damage to shields by 50%. If you pop Rampart then that will only effect 20% of the remaining 50% of the damage you are taking after Shadow Protection.

    This is just an idea on what they could have replace Living Dead with. I know it not perfect but honestly I hate Living Dead.

    I absolutely hate Living Dead. When in PUGs the healers never heal you to full and I die then get blamed for the death every single time I use it. Was really crossing my fingers it had been retooled.

    the problem is not being removed, the problem is still we don't have any way to dealt against walking dead by ourself, we complain for pasive and for active how bad is this skill and we give our best feedback and nothing was done for it, no rework, no visual indication, just nothing, i know the toolkit can change but they didn't even mention it.

    I can get the idea that they want to give every tank an invuln without just tweaking the duration and cd of hallowed ground or something.

    But the whole 'you die if not healed' thing seems a bit much to me.

    They were too busy removing the movement penalty on Holmgang to fix Living Dead.

    Living Dead isn't as bad as you think. When in a PUG group in a dungeon/trial/raid I find it easier to just make a macro to grab attention when needing to use it. I talk to most of my group through Discord and I get it, verbal queues are ALWAYS faster, and you can easier rely on statics to know when you are using it. It has saved my butt several times, with no problems.

    In short, it's not the skill, but the communication of the party.

    I would argue that the poor communication is on the skill itself. It has layers of extra complexity that the other invulns don't and nothing to communicate them well.
    Sure if you are on voice chat with a static communication is easy, but that is not always to not often the case for many players. Heck, some players never use voice chat.

    I've personally created very extensive macros for the ability just for the purpose of communication. First is the one that activates Living Dead, plays a sound effect to get people's attention and says in chat that the ability has been used and to not heal me in all caps to make it super noticeable and easy to read on the fly. Then I have a second macro that I use when Walking Dead gets activated that says in chat that Walking Dead is active and to heal me for my total HP amount within 7s (I use 7 to compensate for people's reaction times and so nobody waits until the last second) or I will die, again in all caps.
    Even with all that I still get people that mess it up or didn't realize what was going on, healing too early so that Walking Dead never activates and the ability is wasted, don't heal me enough so I die or heal to early and cancel out Walking Dead within 1-2s wasting much of it's time.

    The fact that I have to resort to either voice chat or creating multiple macros just to communicate an ability and potentially still have people mess it up seems to point to the source of the problem being the ability itself.

    I won't argue that in the right situations, such as well organized raid statics, that Living Dead accomplishes it's purpose but there is no denying that it is not anywhere as straightforward as the other invulns which can lead to unnecessary complications or mistakes.

    It's a horrible skill that requires advanced communication with everyone else to gain it's full potential. Holmgang and Hallowground doesn't require the extra work and doesn't have a stupid requirement for them to activate and be useful.
