Please do something about these burst window abilities.

As an EU player on an NA server I'm getting kind of sick of these abilities with burst windows, I was really hoping something would be done about it for shadowbringers, but nope, so I'll post my suggestion.

Moves like wildfire, requiescat and inner release are really punishing to people with lag.
Why do I get punished for something out of my control? If you miss a cast within the duration it is a huge hit to your damage: Wildfire, even with the new adjustment is a 150 potency hit if you don't get the last attack in to the duration. Requiescat is gonna be a huge one now because that's 800 potency we're gonna lose out on if we miss the cast, inner release that's a 520 potency crit direct fell cleave down the drain.

Now with MCH and WAR you can get some skill speed to kind of compensate, which is still meh cause its stupid that the amount of stats I need is based on my server lag rather than actual in game conditions.

But for requiescat, pld's don't have access to spell speed, holy spirit and Confiteor is always going to have a 2.5s recast, while requiescat has a 12s duration, so while people somehow get 5 casts into this which should be mathematically impossible, people with lag are lucky to get 4 in.

So my suggestion is to change these moves into charge based abilities. Kind of like aetherflow or ammo. Make it so that when you use requiescat you gain 5 stacks of holy light, inner release 5 stacks of rage and wildfire 5 stacks of heat. That way no matter how long it takes you to cast your spells or use your weaponskills you still get 5 in. Nothing would really change, it would just mean if you have to move, or you lag or the enemy leaves the field, you don't lose our on some or all your damage, you can just wait until you're ready to finish your casts.

This would level the playing field, now people with better connections don't get an extra hit in over people with worse connections, everyone gets 5.

I'm sure other jobs have this issue too and that this won't work for all of them, I think ninja has it rough with trick attack and I'm sure some workaround could be done for that, but I'm just looking at the ones I'm most familiar with.

You are playing on a different continent and you are complaining about burst windows being difficult to hit because of server lag.

That is entirely your fault. You can choose to play on EU and have less lag or play on NA and have lag. You chose NA. Now you live with the lag.

probably the same reason many EU people do. including my self. The EU data centre wasnt around when they started.

I started on Saronia in 1.0 merged with Lindbulm to become Sargatanas. EVERYONE I know is on that server. why would i jump to an EU data centre?

That is entirely your fault.

For people with long standing friends and connections thats just not an option..

Also in my case even being in the UK I and many europeans never had any latency issues on NA servers until they moved the data centre back at the end of heavensward.

Because I started on an NA server in ARR to play with my NA friends, I've built a FC a house and relationships on my server so even with the addition of world visit I can't just up and leave at this point.

Regardless, it's not just region lag that causes this problem, there are plenty of reasons people suffer from lag and it's bad enough we get hit by AoE's that we weren't standing in on our screen because of it, let alone taking a dps hit for it too.

That's a rather important difference. Either way, this is a terrible idea, we really don't need the skill floor lowered any further than it already is.

Life isn't fair. You made your choice, live with it. The developers shouldn't have to cater to the choice you made.

I mean, your lag is not SE's issue. They will not alter their design because you don't play on the appropriate data center even if you serve the excuse "i started on NA".

How about me from NZ I get 170ping to the NA servers, and they are the servers that I get the least ping to. I guess I should switch to Oceanic-- Oh wait, there aren't any. Guess I gotta move to North America then, if I want to play burst window classes.
Let's face it, it is SEs fault to a certain extent that they have classes that cannot be played properly due to ping. Anyone remember ARR Ninja? Mudras were an absolute nightmare, before they fixed it.

I am EU and play on NA, and have no problems with Requiescat.

The game is designed to work well at very high pings, so there is probably another factor contributing to your ping.
