It's so adorable you've got your daughters playing the game. Given time and patience, I think the economy in game would be a great tool to help teach them the value of items and money as well.

I think MMOs, even with all the rude people one encounters from time to time, is better than any school yard. When I was a child, by 2nd grade, I had already absorbed the popular curse words from other kids in school and as far as I can tell, nothing has changed as the type of language children are privy to is just as bad as the yesteryears it's just a slightly different set of slang. It's definitely better that children be exposed to real life with parental guidance than having them learn about it on their own.

This is so sweet I love hearing about families playing games together XD I don't have any kids (yet) but I still play often with my bf. And we'll most likely pass our fav family-friendly games down to our offspring.

On another note, I've noticed that kids seem to pick up gameplay/controls far more than many adults. Heck, I could pick up basic nintendo and gameboy games as a little kid and learn them without anyone telling me how, while my mom to this day, stares at a console controller like it's complicated alien technology XD

This just might explain why some people are having trouble getting certain friends, spouses etc. to play the game. Because it might be due to them not being experienced with games in general. A kid though? They have the potential to grasp anything quickly even if it has confusing UI and controls. (sorry for the babble)

Indeed, if your exposed to something at a earlier age, it is easy for you to comprehend it later on. Ex: My cousin would play FFVII when I was really young (1~2) then later (3~4) the game was not difficult at all for me. (Granted it took me awhile to learn that Cure heals my enemies and Heal cures status ailments but blah you get the point)

Really nice thread ^^ My husband and i play and have always been gamers, our 21 year old daughter doesn't play this but she did play a lot of Videogames growing up and it did her no harm infact she now has a degree in Videogame art! As long as children are happy and safe its all good, the world outside is far worse and at least you know they are safe.

Wife got me Zelda Skyward Sword for Christmas so was playing that... and my 4yr old son saw this game from my sister playing when he visited Florida month back when Zelda just came out (sister's Link freak....) anyways... I just got a glove tool for digging... and I was digging only once and my son goes... no daddy you have to dig more!! I was like WTH you talking about and found out you can dig more.... then last night I'm playing temple of time w/e location and I couldn't figure out what to do for like 5 min and was running around map and son goes... throw the bomb like basketball! (he was right...w)

4 yr old telling me what to do... lmao...

Really wonder what the tech is going to be like when they turn out to be 20ish... already changed tons since my childhood age, they gonna end up playing holographic game or real world like Matrix or something lol
