Thank you OP for sharing with us this important information. If I had known this a couple of hours ago I would have never bought this outfit.

So instead I tried to find a way to get rid of the offensive design it had and found General Purpose Pure white Dye seemingly gets rid of it completely (at least the top half) so I just converted it into my SAM's new outfit. Although it still does feel a bit icky still to look at.

Anyways, ignore anybody that tries to belittle what you've said. People will be people, after all. As someone whose own people had been subjugated to similar injustices and were promptly swept under the rug years later like as if nothing had happened, I can empathize on some level at least on how painful this outfit is to the Korean people (along with any other Asian cultures occupied by Japan). So keep your chin up like you have and keep sending out more informative links to help people understand better what the terrible meaning of this outfit is to the Korean people.

I and a few others here at least know your not trying to have the outfit removed but just want to teach us about it is all and I really appreciate all the effort you had gone to into doing this for us. So thank you and please have a good day.

You should create a thread on this. I would honestly support this and potentially a hide ear/horn feature for certain races so that u can get the non-warped version of those headpieces.

Guys please calm down. Im absolutely sure there was NO purpously bad intention behind this. Especially Yoshi P would NEVER allow something interionally Bad into the Game he rebuild with his Team. He Knows that he and his team owe everything to the Fans.

Btw: the one Twitterpost missinterpreted something. Doma is more Like China, not Japan. Hingashi is the Region build after Japan. Yes those are different "countrys" in FFXIV. Doma was invaded. Hingashi keeps its gates to the mainland closed to any outsiders but keeps a policy of Neutrality on its Harbor-city. Garleans themselves trade with them and have a Polotical institution in Kugane.

I think the hakama looks really cute and it's very easy to differentiate between reality and fiction. Only problem is that it doesn't come with the cap the gakuran comes with.

Doma is weird.
Doma is actually a mix, because you get a kimono, they have samurai's, ninja's and other Japanese influences.
Samurai and Ninja are obviously from Japan so you can't really outright say doma is china.

Just a reminder as people are rifling through these posts and all, that there are a few points being made that are being missed, and other points that seem to be misinterpreted:

1. OP isn't trying to say the Occupation and Nazi's are exactly the same. It's a comparison made simply for the sake of hoping you all will garner understanding, even if it is not exact. Because it's a hard thing to describe, and even harder when you have a personal connection to it.

2. OP isn't trying to rip down Squeenix nor are they trying to get the outfit removed.

3. OP is trying it inform you all of the history behind the outfit itself, so you can be conscientious about endorsing it.

Because even if the elders that experienced the Occupation are not playing FFXIV, their children and more likely grandchildren, are.
