Sadly, the only real solution is to start a new character -- even if he changes his name and moves datacenter, both the Lodestone and Google will just pull up his new character under his new name regardless. If this person harassing is really out to get him, which it sounds like, all they have to do is have his current Lodestone info saved somewhere and it is automatically updated. Thus, the only way to keep playing the game without this person ever knowing who the OP is, is to start with a new character which can be on the same server he's on now, but knowing stalkers (I've had issues in the past with some who didn't understand 'friendly' doesn't equal 'wants romance'), they'd probably just also watch his current FC and assume any newly created new members are actually the OP. I suggest just starting over with a new character on a new data center and server -- sucks, but is the only real way

I feel that if you're bad enough at the game that enough people blacklist you so that you have noticeably far longer queues...then you probably should take a good hard look at your own performance. This won't happen unless you are truly exceptionally bad, and even then a lot of people don't care enough to blacklist. I'd say you would have to be rude on top of being a tremendously unskilled player for your queue to be very clearly negatively affected.

I tried alting. Not only did I get found out, it's a NIGHTMARE to regain everything I've had, to say nothing of all the emotes and glams I bought on Mogstation (which of course don't transfer).

That sucks Did you try an alt on the same server that person is on? I figure it'd be near impossible to find you if you started fresh on a new server on a new datacenter and didn't associate with anyone from your old server? I know with the amount it seems you must've bought it is a 'waste' to give up on your main, but I'd figure your peace of mind IRL and that of your family would be more important? I am sorry this happened to you, though, and I know you wouldn't want to give up this game, especially with the expansion coming. I wish you luck though in whatever you do!!! (oh, and I just noticed you're actually on my server o.O -- I'm on Mateus now, my sig here just hasn't updated).

I appreciate it, thank you. ^_^ I was directed by email support to discuss the matter in-game, so I've got yet another ticket in and holding. We'll see what happens. It's not the game that matters so much to me as my friends. They'd like to keep me around and I hate disappointing good people.

idk I guess I appreciate your understand that there probably isn't a lot general discussion forums can do for you to resolve this, and idk why you were deferred here.

and I mean we have no idea the whole situation, I'm sry that this is happening to you, it sounds pretty intense and bad. and yea its very clearly against the rules to have someone give out real life information about other players, and whoever is doing that should definitely be held responsible.

I guess a few points that may or may not be relevant that may help sort this out:

1.) when you report someone you cannot know what happens to this other player. you will be unable to ever know if they are banned or whatever. so something MAY have happened, its possible they received a warning and just continue to do so I have no idea how many issues this person has had in the past. But considering that you seem to know that they continue to do so on alts and friends of them it may indicate some action was indeed taken by the GM's but these people seem intent on continuing to harass you.

2.) what I hear from you it seems like these people have declared war on you which is very very very unfortunate and bad, but I can see that this puts the GM's in an awkward position when numerous players are trying to take you down, its like what's all the sides to this? if someone is really creating alts to harass you well the situation becomes much much more complicated, I mean it remains that they should not be allowed to do any of this but idk i'm just stating that this may be more complicated they 1,2 ban hammer.

3.) i'm hoping that whatever server you are on the general population of the novice network would not stand for acts such as doxing or personal issues. it may be worth trying to rally the network to avoid this sort of behavior. personally if someone did that on novice network that's probably the one and only time I would use the kick feature (which I have never used so far).

4.) I mean when someone goes this far to ruin your gaming experience idk, what caused this to happen? why are they doing this? did you do something that upset them? (even if you did do something to upset them that doesn't justify their doxing you.) its just when things escalate farther and farther we would all hope it just STOPS but unfortunately things tend to get more complicated especially when more people are involved and idk maybe the GM's are having trouble sorting this all out.

so you know normally I would say just block them, which stands and that's probably a good thing to do, but you know maybe this is a personal issue that you and someone need to sit down and have a chat I truly have no idea.

but yea in all i'm sorry this is happening, I hope it stops soon, and I hope that you can take care of yourself in this time. maybe a short break is in order? idk. take care out there.

Tbh that might work better all around, the people who are toxic towards “bads” won’t be matched with them, the “bads” won’t have to be worries about being talked down to by said players, seems like it wouldn’t be a problem.

Fortunately FFXIV requires payment for a sub and there's a money trail. That makes it easier for them to find the person doing the doxxing. As others have said you should definitely contact the local authorities.

Unfortunately, depending on where they live, you might be out of luck. I mean technically you could go after them but are you going to spend your $$$ and time trying to sue someone living in some country halfway across the world that doesn't recognize doxxing as a crime?

Yeah it's a messed up world we live in.

This is in regard to tickets #10596407, 10579865, 10301843, and 10298123. For the past two months, a former friend of mine has been doxxing me in Novice Network and circumventing the game's rules to constantly remind me of past sexual abuse I suffered as a child. According to the information found here:

    http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...68216&ret=main

...these actions constitute serious harassment, yet no action whatsoever has been taken to deter this individual from their constant attacks. I can't use Novice Network, I can barely leave the ward my FC is in, I can't even race chocobos without having to deal with this persistent threat.

I am left with no other conclusion than this kind of behavior is allowable despite the rules listed above.

Over the past 6 months I have spent $1,340 on this game, or a little over $223/mo. That's far too much for me to spend to be treated in the manner that I have. If it's a matter of SE no longer wanting me here and hoping I'll get harassed off, just say so and I'll find another game company to patronize.

I'm not sure what this post was supposed to accomplish that in-game tickets did not, but customer support directed me here. I'm sorry if anyone finds this post offensive in any way. But I don't know what else to do here.

So, let me know, SE. I've got an emailed ticket in as well. I'm hopeful I'll hear back on that.
I have no idea why you've been directed here either. This place is hardly legal advice, which is what you currently require. Not the police, as you've noted elsewhere in the thread, they're not currently up to much at this juncture. At minimum, you need something equivalent of either the UK's Citizens Advice, or if you have the cash, a legal representative who can advise you on what happens when things on the internet cross over into "real" life. For you, it seems like that's already happened, and you really want to get some proper advice if or when it escalates.

There is precedent for gaming transgressions to be taken seriously by police, but you will need a legal professional to fight for you so you can be heard effectively. Stay strong, and good luck.

A person to be able to Doxx has to be able to have contact with him and provide IRL information or even live near him. It has to be someone on his contact list or that has been and the evidence he has to present to authorities have to be valid evidence.
