Just how the internet is these days, it's best to wear a tougher skin otherwise it's going to eat you alive and have you sobbing at memes. Ain't the best solution but better than the sobbing alternative.

These days? If anything the internet is way more chill than it used to be.

Oh I didn't even see the morons part in the OP yeah that should go.

You seem to be quite adamant that using "moron" is okay. This is not helping your argument (and I say this as someone on your side of it).
If you use a term that you didn't realise might be offensive (and are shown why it's offensive), you apologise, back off and don't use the term again. Don't insist it's fine while trying to argue why another term is offensive.
It shouldn't even need historical context. I've known since I was a kid that "moron" isn't a nice thing to call someone, and certainly not what you use to look like the rational person in an argument. I'd let it slide in your first post or two where you just seemed upset and maybe not phrasing things the best way (that, and I forgot to comment on it after writing the rest of my original reply to the thread) but now you're just clinging to the term and arguing that it's acceptable.
Please reconsider. Realise what you're doing by insisting on defending your use of it.
You are undermining your own argument.
Oh soul I miss being in a company with ya
The only problem here is you getting hurt over words on the internet.
You can call people out for poor behavior (publicly if needed) without letting it "eat you alive" or having you "sobbing at memes."
