And all you people who think the population HASN'T been decreased by splitting the player base from half into thirds, must all be SE shills.

I think people are arguing your premise of Aether being a "ghost town" - not that Aether's overall population didn't go down. However, the decrease in population doesn't equate to "ghost town". My server is extremely active at all times except for between 2am and 5am on weekdays, where it's slightly quieter. But it's still very active and busy. Haven't had many issues with my queues either; queue times seem to be just about the same as they've always been for me.

Weird. Crystal datacenter is active.

... Because everyone who disagrees with you in any way MUST be being paid.
C'mon, we're not saying your lying just that the rest of us haven't been having the same problem.. or seeing it quite as extremely as you seem to. It sounds however like we've identified your issue, maybe play on a server with a population that's active when you are?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I haven't been able to log into Hyperion in over a week without a login queue. Last time I saw one was SB launch. My server, and it seems for Primal in general, a ghost town it is not.

Fine, I'll bite. At what time, or times, do you play FF XIV? Believe it or not time plays a huge part in how many people you encounter or how fast or slow the queues are.

Several popular games are having issues right now, with WoW being on the brink of suicide. I wouldn't be surprised if there's been a big influx of sprouts as the buildup to ShB gets more intense.It's...weird. Among the people on my friends list, the people in my FC, etc etc, it seems like a ghost town at times. But...there is also something else I noticed.
As a dps main, I have very long queue times and have learned to deal with it. I don't like crafting, gathering, or changing jobs while in a queue because I've had bad experiences in the past of having crafts interrupted or timing out and being automatically withdrawn (usually due to "being in combat"). So, to pass the time, I spam fates for GC seals. My zone of choice is usually Coerthas Central Highlands. Ever since I pretty much joined this game after Stormblood's release, that zone has almost always been a ghost town. In recent weeks, however, the zone is packed. There are people wandering around doing fates, quests, etc. Most of them are sprouts, but not all. I'm still not quite used to it. I'm so used to my Coerthas grinding being my "alone time".
I don't know who all these people are, but they're there and they're not bots.
I see a lot of people around on Balmung. Though the queue times for content definitely seems to have taken a nasty hit. Even as a tank there is a delay at times. The pre-expansion lull is to blame to an extent but...not entirely. There's always a lot of consistent players around even during dry periods of content, it just so happens that they're now more cut off from one another.

Everyone has their gear, even alphascape is on echo now, we're a month away from a new expansion. Yeah pf has been kinda dead except for stragglers trying to farm doggos or raid gear, but that's to be expected at this point.
