In hw the main job theme was dragoon, sb monk, sam
in shadows its dark knight ... even in the trailer the human dude didn't even job change to a mage once lol
Am i the only one who sees this pattern of secret hate towards Magi?

Casters don't make for very hype cinematics so most likely, no.
just the oppsite us true in my eyes physical jobs are so lame in movie cinematics there no uniqueness to them its just stab shoot peirce ... blowing stuff up or freezing it or idk summoning bahamut egi woulda made it so much better
Melees usually are action packed and have alot of movements involved. Makes for something more interesting than someone standing still holding a stick.
Has to fit the theme of the expansion.
In Heavensward we were a Dragoon because that class originated in Ishgard so it was thematically appropriate. The only other class that could have worked would have been Astrologian because of it's differing sects, but Dragoon is by far and away more suited. Stormblood we were Monks and Samurai because those two jobs again are thematic to the regions we visited. With Monks being a HUGE part of the lore of Ala Mhigo and it's downfall and Samurai being suited to the eastern theme of Doma and Hingashi. Now in Shadowbringer's we're a Dark Knight less because of the place we're visiting and more because we're fighting against the flood of light that took over the First and that threatens the Source. Light against Dark, that old cliche and all.
I do remember in 1.0 I think the main Job was Archer, and in ARR it was Warrior, but I never played 1.0 so I can't tell you why that is more or less appropriate or not.
I can see the main job being Astrologian if we ever get an expansion to Sharlayan. Or Red Mage if the future expansion focuses more overtly on keeping the proverbial Balance. White Mage and Black Mage are a bit harder to place since we've already been to Mhach and the Shroud, but they could find another way to work it in if they wanted.
idc what mage gets it tbh smn, geimancer, ast white black red blue green as long as a mage gets some love scene wise outside of im just gonna cast this spell and die auto while the warrior gets all the honor lolHas to fit the theme of the expansion.

I mean damn our lala black mage friend didn't even get a memory cs in stormblood trailer and he was the main reason we could go save those lands lol like really lol
you should watch the scenes in ff9 Alexander vs bahamut scene would blow away all mele scenes easily and that was a magi scene.
I with a previous poster agree that the reason we've had mostly melee/tanks is because they look better in action cutscenes. With 6.0 tho if we don't get a new melee dps, I guess it's paladin because all other melee jobs have been used? I dont think theyre gonna make gunbreaker the main job right after it was introduced
Either that or its gonna be machinist or a spellcaster.
If we're going to garlemald, I'm betting on machinist :P
