Things I've 100% noticed from the new SMN (with a bit of speculation too).

Another curiosity, they mentioned that Egis are now insta-casts, and seemed to stress that being done to allow for easier pet swapping. While this is also nice for if the pet somehow dies (or if you die and get rezzed), the other thing I noticed in the video was them swapping for Ifrit after Bahamut, then summoning Phoenix. I wonder if the Egi you have active determines which Demi-summon you use and, if so, what are the pros and cons of using either one? Also, if this is the case, was this done to give more equal usage between Ifrit and Garuda?

pets wont die, they will not receive any dmg nor will they be targeted by any mobs/players anymore (healers cant heal them). the will be like minions with abilitys u can use.. something like that.
so i am curious about titan(tank pet) and what his ability's will be, i speculate on giving the summoner defensive buffs maybe? idk, they left him out.
about equal usage, i dont think thats the intention, but rather making summoner feel more summoner like, like he was in previous games, i've seen some discussion about that in the past. i am curious for the reason/benefit of swapping between them and how this will affect the gameplay/rotation of summoner.

Oh? I must have missed when they mentioned pets not taking damage. I wasn't able to start watching the LL until later in the broadcast, and only saw the job action trailer after the fact. As for Titan, I wonder about that as well. Not tying him to Bahamut/Phoenix would make a sort of sense, as Titan would disappear when you summon them, not even to mention I'm not entirely clear on how enmity and tanking is supposed to work now with all those changes coming into effect (I'll have to go back and review that...). In any case, I hope they make some sort of significant change to Titan then to make it actually relevant, but given that it didn't appear at all in the trailer I have my concerns.

The Demi-Phoenix gauge appeared as soon as Bahamut left, before the switch to Ifrit happened. The summon might still need Ifrit out, but who knows at this point.
