Why do people judge whole groups based on the very few people rather than just judge a person by person basis?

The OP has not responded in this thread or in the male Viera support thread where they copied the OP into it, I feel it is clear this person was intentionally trying to create an invisible bogeyman to allow people to point and go "See you do all overreact" so they could chuckle if we had argued about it i'm glad to see it didn't come to that. Now OP if this is wrong please come forward and say something i'll gladly be proven wrong on this but so far your lack of response and how you have worded both your thread and your post in the support thread does not paint you in a favorable light.

Now to what really is bothering me why are people so quick to condemn large groups of people this quote unfortunately does just that, this is like going into a classroom with multi flavored ice cream you give out vanilla and strawberry to those that liked it but the moment you finish handing out strawberry 1 child goes I want chocolate NOW so every child that got vanilla and strawberry try to say you should put the tub away, what did all the children wanting chocolate do apart from that 1 child nothing yet you decided to be petty and try to punish all of them for that outlier.

I think collectively we all need to stop judging groups by the few and just judge each individual as they appear, sorry its so ranty its late but it really does bother me at times.

This is a common thing that happens with humans.

If you're a real life minority you know that some people who have very lil exposure to people who look like you will take your actions as a representation of all people who look like you to some level. Same with politics, if you're in a Blue state with no personal interactions with Reps you may let the crazies color the picture for you as you don't know a reg one.

Difference is that those are serous real world problems with outcomes that affect us all in the real world. Someone could, for example, not personally see a problem with the cops as they have never had a problem with them and think X and Y groups are just being loud and whiny for no reason. But because it's a serous real world problem that hurts many people with stats and stories and such to back it up people can converse about it and educate that person on why it IS something that we should all care about even if they have never gone through it.

This, however, is just a game where some people whine about not having a cosmetic option. People may not care one way or another yet look at the loudest and think "... You know what? I hope you don't get JACK!". It's not important, it hurts no one.. so there's really no way to dig in and change that person's mind, is there? All the non-stop attention seeking whining does is take the people who don't care one way or another about this (the vast majority) and annoy them.

Sorry, but I just had to point this out. Just sounded like such a naive question that I see used so often. This is how people work, we have to actively fight against stereotypes in the REAL WORLD yet people don't seem to understand.
