I'd say GLA has more survivability or staying power, but not that much more. I was with a Spiritbond party where no one wanted to kill the Boneknitters and they all wiped. If I recall, there were five or so mobs still fighting me on my GLA. I had time to raise twice (actually... when they died, I raised one, so the length of the CD is about how long I survived without help.) before finally succumbing to the mobs and new pops. I simply couldn't burn them down fast enough solo (since they thought we were going to die they didn't help... bah, if I just had one healer actually healing...). Then again, this was on patch day, so my experience on the new combat system was noob so I could be utterly wrong here.

Can PGL tank efficiently? I haven't tanked much on my PGL since patch, but one of my LS's uses PGL to tank during the Moogle fight. Why? Deals more dmg, and only takes slightly more damage than a GLA. Of course we could have tanked it with a MRD but the PGL was able to help burn down the GLA Moogle at the start of the fight. Fists of Fire damage is not mitigated by the GLA Moogle. Err, so I got off track there... but I do believe PGL can tank efficiently in a PT. You can cross many of the tanking abilities over. You know, I think I'll go tank on my PGL and see what strengths and weaknesses I can take from it. Or I'll ask my PGL buddies.

Also, while there might be, I personally don't know of anything that a GLA can solo that a PGL cannot. I tried killing some NM's on various classes while farming gear for some LS members. I found PGL to be one of the better NM slaying classes. Fast on kills while taking only a moderate amount of damage compared to some of the other classes. Probably didn't take much because of the faster kills tho.
