Starting out - who are the best Dds? Who are the best soloers?

First I'd like to say, DD's are pretty balanced across the board now in terms of overall damage.

However, similarly to what Noctis says, PGL is probably the easiest to solo with. It is a very flexible class. It has high survivability with it's own abilities Second Wind, Featherfoot, Fists of Earth. It has CC with Haymaker. It has magic damage for those creatures strong to physical with Fists of Fire. Pulling off WS Combos isn't too difficult as well. Especially when you can stun a mob and run to it's backside to pull of Pounce to start a combo.

ARC is good, but requires a bit of skill. I suppose you can Light Shot and just use WS's at point blank, but if you kite a target with Leaden Arrow or bind them with Shadowbind, you can pull off all your WS's. ARC is the only non caster class whose WS Combos do not require directional positioning to fire off, just distance. You can still do them simply by running to create distance but meh. Although I'd have to say, ARC does hit hard when you can combo.

I'd comment on the other classes but I'd have to say if you're going to solo, PGL, if not, all classes are awesome to play since patch.

Disregarding speed for a moment - does PGL still have more survivability than GLA? and if so - can they tank effectively? If not, Can GLA solo things PGL cannot?

Survival is not the only thing that matters for soloing. GLA can perhaps survive longer, but also will take longer to kill. Basically drag things out. I doubt GLA can solo something PGL can't - because like I said they will be dragging it out.

PGL can have comparable survivability - although noticeably less. However, it deals drastically greater damage than a GLA. Also, the Stun control helps tons in solo encounters.

Thank you kindly for all of the swift replies. I'm thinking I'll just bring up Pgl, Arc(have to anyways for camo), and Gla to mess around with. Push the soloing capabilities of players, ya'know? Off to leveling!
